China has a major economic foothold in this world. More so than America does, even.
America owes more money to China than any other country owes anyone else.
I'll drop this here, and this here.

I asked for sources explaining how China is currently classed as a Superpower, not how it is rapidly becoming one.

Try harder.

It's still better then your Wikipedia sources buddy.

No, I personally find wikipedia unsuitable for information fetching because Wikipedia isn't official.
Anyone can say anything on wikipedia, all they have to do is link something to the source.
Over half the time, the source isn't reliable.
That's why I don't count his wikipedia links.

It's not that. It's the fact that anyone with an account can change a page content. Even with there moderators and such is still unreliable.

Ah yes, an article explaining how China is a major economic power, and how the author believes that it is a superpower, but still not providing any information as to whether it is officially classed as one, which it isn't.

I don't care about how it could/should be classed as one, but unless you show me that China is officially classed as a Superpower, we're done here.

China is the most likely next choice, as others have said. It is closest to that position, but not one as of yet. India, Brazil, the EU and Russia are also possibilities.

The combined EU debt is lower than that of the US. Would you say that the US can do no good?

That's the thing with wikipedia.
The citations can lead to a page with one sentence that merely mentions the thingputforward (couldn't think of the word. xP) and it automatically becomes a validated source.
Also, the citations appear to be opinions from other people, like my sources.

Probably India or that Norse Union there is a buzz about recently.

I wouldn't refer to China as a super-power, personally. There system is quite fragile, they may be sprinting forward in terms of economic progress, but sometimes it can be hard to tell the difference between running vigorously and falling forwards uncontrollably. One slip and their state capitalism could face-plant.

India.
Rising labour costs in China will probably have a very severe effect on their economic supremacy, and I've read that India's population is set to overtake China's.
We'll know when they try to liberate Tibet.
