When a relative proclaims ideas you disapprove of, the appropriate course of action is to punish them for not believing in what you believe. This is obviously correct, will not foster resentment, does not prove them right when they tell you your capitalist ideology is about repression of ideas and the use of force to maintain that repression, and absolutely proves that you are a wonderful human being. Enforcing the idea of thought crime on people who have no means of defense from it is called good parenting.

Also, communism relies on everyone doing a fair share of the work. In the 'Stepson's' view, all of the wealth in the house should be shared out-so he recieves 1/5 (or whatever else the fraction is) of his father's paycheck. The author also fails to note the distinction from private to personal property-the stepson would keep all of his belongings, but he couldn't keep his money making business (if he possessed one).

This is so true. It's just sad how badly people misunderstand the nature of communism and socialism because the USSR, China and North Korea fucked up badly, even though they're not even socialist states at all but just state capitalist.
