Best Area of the USA?

So I was having a debate with a co-worker abiut where the best geo-political area of the US is. I said the west coast, he said the northeast, but that's just preference. So...if you HAD to live anywhere in the USA that matched your political ideology (or not, but seeing as how many of us ARE politically interested, I don't know why anyone would want to live in an area that doesn't represent them), where would it be? Also, where would you LEAST want to live?

Northeast: Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachussetts, Rhode Island, Connecticuit, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Deleware, Maryland, D.C.

Northern Midwest: Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, North Dakota, South Dakota

Southern Midwest: Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma

South: Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Lousiana, Arkansas

Texas: Texas (I think Texas could qualify as its own original place, half south/half west)

Northwest: Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Colorado

Southwest: Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico

West Coast: California, Oregon, Washington

My choice would be the west coast, I'm as liberal as it gets in the US so I'm lucky enough to already live in California. Although, I would like to move more north to Oregon/Washington when possible. The place I'd LEAST like to be is the south, nothing but :palm: 's all day!

I wouldn't want to live in the Southwest.
