How do you know the flood would kill vegetation? Vegetation can survive underwater.

Under salt water?

Also, how big was the Ark according to the Bible?

Some vegetation can survive. Nothing that can attest to the amount of diversity we see today.
This Debate is simply an exercise in Rhetoric. Truth is a fickle being with no intentions of showing itself today.

Not all vegetation, if accidentally leaving my houseplants out in the rain has taught me anything.

Well, no.

The amount of water on earth is insufficient. I remember reading somewhere that there are certain indications that the black sea may have filled very quickly after a cataclysmic event, displacing/killing lots of the people who lived in the area. That may be an explanation for the recurring theme of a great flood in ancient mythology and modern religion.

Yeah, no. Most would be unable to get enough sunlight, most would "drown", most would be unable to survive in salt water, etc.

No it can't. Land vegetation, first of all needs fresh water (AKA rain) to survive, having it at the bottom of the ocean would basically make everything shrivel up and die thanks to osmosis, and second of all, would be way to deep underwater to receive any sunlight (scientists call this the midnight zone).

Indeed. The original argument is predicated on "well, the marine life could have just stayed in the water". At levels with sufficient oxygen for them to survive they'd be crushed like a bug.

And depending on which water fell from the skies (or whatever the fairy tale says), either all the salt-water critters or fresh-water critters would have bit it.

http://www.creationtips.com/arksize.html
Genesis 6:15 in the Bible tells us the Ark's dimensions were at least 135 meters long (300 cubits), 22.5 meters wide (50 cubits), and 13.5 meters high (30 cubits). That's 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet high! It could have been larger, because several larger-sized cubits were used. But the 45-centimeter (18-inch) cubit is long enough to show the enormous size of the Ark.

(A cubit was the length of a man's arm from fingertips to elbow.)
