I vaguely remember Hairless Kitten from my first months here. He kept trying to come back in different incarnations and kept getting hit by the mods, if my memory holds.

I am actually sort of grateful to HK in a strange way. By pissing me off so much for such a long time he really helped unlock my inner precision-bitchslap practitioner. I would be a very different poster if HK had not been around.

Poll needs an option for "this place has improved". Back in 2003, NSG was a cesspit where postings of tub girl and goatse were a pretty regular occurance. The most dedicated trolls seem to have given up.

I will admit I'm highly disappointed by the apparent ban on all content that is vaguely sexual in nature.

But I'm even more disappointed by the fact that said content is also considered obscene in real life, so this forum's mods can hardly be blamed for it.

Although, really, it's usually once every year or two (or sometimes more often) that we get a bunch of doomsayers talking about how SURELY, THIS TIME, NS is doomed to become a cesspit of memes and horrible RPing and how it's already on the path to becoming the new 4chan.

Funnily enough, people complain about basically the same things on 4chan. Although there it's usually trolling.

Although, really, it's usually once every year or two (or sometimes more often) that we get a bunch of doomsayers talking about how SURELY, THIS TIME, NS is doomed to become a cesspit of memes and horrible RPing and how it's already on the path to becoming the new 4chan.

Funnily enough, people complain about basically the same things on 4chan. Although there it's usually trolling.

It generally comes from people who are leaving or have left and come back.

Lord HK was a horrible troll. We had to ban his ass from UMP too. Changed the forum, but not for the worse.

There is no value in allowing people to deliberately attempt to tear a forum apart.

I swear, even since 2009, it has changed. I wouldn't say for the better either, yes, i feel the mods are stricter, but to me it is fine. The new pony craze is funny, and IC-ly, very interesting. To me, it is just all the politics and and things that are repeated over and over=very annoying.

I have actually probably started a thread with a similar topic every year I've been here. Probably not the first or second. But I haven't actually felt that I was wrong. This place is stupider, and you could see the progression. We lose good poster after good poster to the burnout of dealing with idiots.

I came in just before the move from jolt. I miss some of the players that left during the transition(and some that left afterword).

It's not all bad. Some good posters that I liked made the transition, some posters from the pre-jolt days came back, and some good new posters showed up.

I will say this: for good or for ill, it does feel as if there has been a change after 2008 election/the move. Threads(imo) used to cast us into the GOP conservatives versus the American & Euro (more liberal) groups. Now it's more about economics. I think bendira has something to do with this.

I also really miss TCT and Hammurab. I also wish some posters woud post more.
