I'm sorry, Mudhoney and who? Never heard of them. AC/DC will always be greater than those nobody's. By the way, I think Afghans would rather listen to classic hits than punks screaming and grunting.

Clearly because AC/DC is more popular than the Melvins, they're superior.

Just like Justin Bieber is superior to AC/DC.

If you've checked over your facts. AC/DC is actually more popular than Justin Bieber. Back In Black (the second greatest selling album of all time) has sold 50 million copies.

So who is superior now?
Thought so.

Justin Bieber has more airtime on the radios.

Everyone talks about him.

No one talks about AC/DC.

AC/DC was popular.

Now they're wayside vagabonds with no real purpose and ousted by other mainstream garbage like Bieber.

Pushing the Taliban out of the country, and practically securing the rest of the nation so the rest of NATO doesn't get their asses handed to them on first drop. The only ones who do any work, besides the USA, are the ANZACs, Canucks, and Brits.

And this is how Afghanistan will stand on their own. Obscure black metal bands selling rare demo tapes on eBay for hundreds of dollars. هل معارضة الآلهة ، سحق المؤمنين will soon be the most popular song on YouTube.

Bullshit.

Bieber is only popular with only demographic and that is teenage girls.

At least AC/DC appeals to young and old, male and female.

It depends on what radio station you listen to. If you listen to a classic hits station, they will play AC/DC and no Justin Bieber. On the other hand, if you listen to a contemporary hits station, they will play Justin Bieber and no AC/DC.

People still talk about AC/DC they're not dead. I was at their concert last year and I had a great time. They're still popular you know.

Now, back to Afghanistan.

Diverted much of their resources away from attacking many countries often.
Saved lives.

I suppose doing all of that in a country that is notoriously hard to change.

They kind of managed to do it before, so they have the potential. But it will take vast social changes to ever bring their nation back to the level of potential it had before lunatic religious extremism and the cold war came along and wrecked all their shit.

I'll leave the acts of barbarism to the barbaric, but I'll call them out on their behaviours.

'The dirty work'? You make it sound as if someone actually asked America to tearass around the world picking fights with insignificant hellholes and fighting a kind of warfare in which over 90% of the casualties are civilians. You speak as if you actually regard it as the national duty of the United States; some sort of sacred trust bestowed upon your nation to police the world against its will... this makes no sense to me. I'm not even against interventionism, in and of itself - if a large power feels it is in its best interests to intervene in distant situations, fine... but what really puzzles me is the notion that just because a nation can project their power and influence around the world, that they have some kind of duty to do so at every opportunity.

For example: Australia certainly has the economic and military power to invade, ahem, 'liberate' Fiji. Fiji has large gold and copper deposits and other valuable assets, of course, but only a cynical, unpatriotic fool would dream that this has anything to do with the invasion. We could even spout off for a while about 'the need to establish stable, democratic government' or some such. Then we could send in our jets to blow up 'vital military infrastructure' like roads, the electricity grid, and other things civilians depend on in day-to-day life, inflicting 90% 'unfortunate but unavoidable collateral damage' in the process, and we could probably even have the Prime Minister standing on the HMAS Ballarat to declare 'Mission Accomplished' in two or three weeks, tops. But just because we can, does that mean we should? Is it down to us to 'do more than talking'? Are we obliged to confront our 'responsibility' as a regional power and step up to the plate to 'do the dirty work'?

I'm not saying that the US' middle eastern wars shouldn't have happened - I'm sure you can give me long lists of good reasons. But don't try to sell us that tired old 'we're the only ones with the guts to do the dirty work' line of bullshit. That's been the self-justification of mass murderers down the ages.

Yup, like not sending troops in Iraq would have caused a strings of huge wars...

Yup totally.. I mean if NATO didn't bomb Libya, there would have been a giant world war... right, I get it now.

Yet more of same old story. If Canada was a third world nation - I would be surprised if it didn't have US troops in every corner. And you still haven't explained why the hell USA should intervene in internal affairs of nations.
