You aren't familiar with communism.

Next Generation Left
2012 vote: 66% for Obama | 25% for Romney
Generally young, well-educated and financially comfortable, the Next Generation Left have very liberal attitudes on many issues, including homosexuality, abortion, the environment and foreign policy. While overall supportive of an activist government, most are wary of expanding the social safety net. Most also have relatively positive views of Wall Street’s impact on the economy. While most affiliate with the Democratic Party or lean Democratic, few consider themselves strong Democrats. Compare groups on key issues.

Another moderate +3 for moderacy lol

Everything in moderation, including politics. :p

Socialism is still a much more legitimate ideology than any kind of Republican-voting lol

Did you ever stop to think that people might vote Republican because the Democratic candidate is Carter terrible?

Sure I am. I'm especially familiar with their laughable attempts to dissociate themselves from communist dictators and such.

I guess you can really call hypocrisy on that, given how you are specially good at not trying to disassociate yourself from dictators. ^^

The Greens and Libertarians have never gotten close to winning a national election, and voting for none just lets Carter win.

A political compass that barely recognises the existence of any ideology which is not liberalism and is entirely based on America.

Nope, the famous political compass is way better.

First of all, we've had a thread on this before. If I recall correctly, it was about a month ago.

Secondly, this test is hardly accurate. It asks a small number of questions, all of which are very vague. Lastly, it's very Ameri-centric, as it recognizes liberalism and conservatism as the only two possible political ideologies. It's a hackneyed thread, a vague test, and a crappy test.

On the other hand, the little "solid liberal" logo does a nifty spinny animation thing when the page loads. That's OK I guess.

Good. He was one of the only half-decent presidents we had. 10 times better than any republican. I'll leave it at that though, for fear of a threadjack.

"Deeply financially-stressed and distrustful of government, Hard-Pressed Skeptics have reservations about both political parties, but more lean toward the Democratic Party. In general, they want government to do more to solve problems, but have doubts about its efficiency. Hard-Pressed Skeptics are among the most cynical about the ability of individuals to improve their lot through hard work. These attitudes may reflect their distressed financial conditions: Hard-Pressed Skeptics have the lowest average family incomes of any of the typology groups."

Eh, sounds about right. But I'm lower-middle class, not bottom class. Other than that it sounds relatively accurate, at least more than other political tests I've taken.

 As an extremely moderate democrat I'd take Romney over carter any minute, hour, day, week, or year of my lifetime.

I'd also take romney over Rand Paul, Ron paul, or Elizabeth Warren.

Obama is a fairly decent president so far, and I believe history will judge him MUCH better than mainstream politics would see to. He will be seen as the moderate pro business democrat who had a lot of weight and strongly influenced the fture of America, but was simply never championed as the pinnacle of moderate economic thought due to a radical opposition movement known as the tea party and even more radical bleeding hearts.

The president who abandoned his party just because he wanted to get shit done.

"vote Democratic and are unflagging supporters of Barack Obama" nope

My parents most certainly are not solid liberals, but they are staunch, unflagging supporters of Barack Obama, although they had initial misgivings. Mine should read, "Generally poor but educated, [insert ideology here] vigorously and blatantly supports a robust social safety net and nationalization of many industries. Generally socially moderate, they tend to oscillate between social conservative and radically libertarian attitudes towards issues such as homosexuality, abortion, and the death penalty and major culture war controversies tend to create profound ethical crises for these individuals who simply wish they would go away. [insert ideology] is very pessimistic about the nation's future, seeing nothing but decay and degradation, however they find hope in America's ability to change and adapt and hope that the best aspects of its long-standing principles and ideals will allow the nation continue on the path to success, but they are skeptical. They are notably highly tolerant of immigration, and believe immigration laws should be greatly relaxed on the principle that if free trade is to be accepted as truly just, then both labor and capital should have equal freedom of movement. On foreign policy, [insert ideology] believes a re commitment to the principles of neutrality and resisting unhealthy alliances combined with a spirit of openness and generosity- rather than brute force- is the best way to secure peace."

The average misery index for carter was 16.26, and I'll leave it at that.
