Microsoft has had literally no impact on the direction of the PV Version. The only thing they've really done is license a shitload of toys and push pocket/Win 10 Edition. Actually that's not quite entirely true. The developers have more meetings than they did before microsoft took over, but that hardly matters to the end user.

Have they updated anything since the change? I heard the combat was overhauled or something.

Only really interested in going back if there was more content and things to work with.

Command blocks have essentially made Minecraft a game design studio for mapmakers who know JSON well enough.

You can do exponentially more today. As wallenberg said command blocks allow you to do pretty much anything. Combat was overhauled but that was hardly a microsoft thing. That was a devs realizing that spamming mouse clicks was a really shitty combat system. Watching the butthurt that pvp players had over the changes though was glorious to watch.

Mine's rather average, though I do plan on extending it in the near future.

There's just something appealing about living underground, I can't quite explain it.

Maybe you were a rabbit in a past life.

But yeah, living in underground homes is neat. I've had one place where I was lodged in the side of a mountain, had some glass for views outside it.

I love minecraft for being able to do stuff like that.

I think EthosLab has a brilliant underground base. He made it pretty fancy over the course of playing on that world, in his Vanilla LP.

So, after doing some exploring, I've found an Abandoned Mineshaft at the bottom of the ocean (Specifically under the Gravel Level).

Interesting.

Yep. They have a chance of spawning where lightning strikes.

so uh in beijing i sat down to eat a meat bun or two

then i heard the sound of a door being closed (or opened) from someone's phone (which i recognized instantly due to it being the most identifying sound of the game in any public space)

a bunch of kids were playing it on a table nearby and they were probably just in kindergarten

fucking hell

The way it works is that, any time lightning would strike, there's a chance that a skeleton horse will spawn instead. If you get close, it will turn into four skeleton horses, with skeleton riders, who will then attack you (as skeletons do). So... yeah, I would say so.

Finally got a Nether Portal running.

Surprisingly, it was pretty close to a Fortress, but I don't think the local Blazes like me very much...

The feeling when you're 2 days into a game, in a dinky little wooden house, and it just won't stop raining.

On the bright side, the developers nerfed exhaustion so that walking no longer depletes hunger.

And a sheep keeps bleating. (I seem to always get spawned in snow biomes. Spruce is good.)

It doesn't? I wish the Console Edition kept up to date :(

Well, sprinting and digging/mining still depletes hunger(In PC and PE at least).
