IN THE GRIM DARKNESS OF THE FAR FUTURE, THERE IS ONLY WAR

Welcome to the 41st millennium. It's a shitty place to live. Thanks to a nob named Horus Lupercal being manipulated by an even bigger nob named Erebus to throw down with his God Emperor daddy and turned things to crap. The players in this far future fuckery are:

The Imperium of Man. AKA, humanity. Worshiping a skeleton and sending crazy super soldiers called Space Marines to purge their enemies.
The Forces of Chaos. Lunatics who worship one of four Gods: Blood God, Sick God, Hentai God and "All According To Keikaku" God.
Da Orks. Big green Cockney fungus monsters who love a good scrap,
The Eldar. Space Elves who come in two flavors: Vanilla and So kinky they humped a Chaos God into existence.
The Tau. Communist weeb space cows,
The Necrons. The Terminator IN SPACE!
And the Tyranids. Big, hungry space bugs.

Kill Team vs Necromunda.

Considering getting into one of the smaller, skirmish games but can only choose one.

Since ICly my nation does use Imperial equipment eg Valkrie, might as well throw me hat in yr little ring...
I guess 40K could improve a bit with more vehicles.

This OP is soo barebones, where are the eulogies, the backstories, the brief synopsis of the lore and world and how erebus is in fact a dickhead.

I rate it 3.5/15 Ministorum priests

Having only played necromunda back in the 1st version (technically the 2nd if we count confrontation) I couldn't really say. I suppose kill team is more directly compatible with regular 40k minis wise. Necromunda gangs really only vaguely work for guard/pdf and cultist armies.

The inquisition would like to bring you in for questioning with regards to why you have half a Ministorum priests.

It was a tragic accident involving ork snipers.

Say, shouldn't Warhammer Fantasy be replaced by Age of Sigmar in the thread title by now?

Should it? Not really an expert on the fantasy version.

Me neither, but Age of Sigmar has taken the place of WHF since the fantasy world quite literally exploded. But, as far as I am concerned, it's not wrong to keep the thread title old school.

Aren't most people still grumpy about Age of Sigmar?

Get into Kill Team. It's more popular, and most of the models can be used in mainline 40k if you want to play that eventually.

Get chaos or genestealer cultists and then you can play both games! Win-win!

Personally I feel GW shot themselves in the foot by blowing up Fantasy due to the Total War game and the new RPG, both of which could've possibly brought new players in.

I think people have mellowed about a bit over the age of sigmar thing.

Some old veterans continue to bitch about Age of Sigmar but the truth is that its sales go really well whereas 9th Age is rapidly declining. People may not like it but the numbers are on GW's side.

On the plus side, GW seems to have somewhat reacted to fan pressure in that they are sloooowly bringing the "classic" fantasy races back into the setting. Battletomes Orruk Warclans (aka Orcs) and Cities of Sigmar (aka Empire) have been announced yesterday:

https://www.warhammer-community.com/201 ... ge-post-1/

It's also expected that we'll see Battletome Slaves to Darkness (aka Warriors of Chaos) before the end of the year.

The absolute irony would be if GW should at some point decide to bring 40k's "3 scales" format (Kill Team for small skirmishes, 40k for medium sized games, Apocalypse for massive horde battles) to AoS (they've already covered two out of three with AoS and now Warcry) and essentially bring back Rank & File movement trays.

I admit I'm not really a fan of it. It is actually what made me turn on over more to 40K.

I should hope!

It's great, IMO. Easy to get into, some really great new designs (Nighthaunt, Idoneth Deepkin, etc), and it's revitalized the scene for Fantasy.
