More plot holes than Chrysalis's backside and the mane six did seem a little...idk off?
Hell the whole episode felt really strange to watch, it jumped from point to point mosty focusing on appeasing Yaks (who were possibly even more unintelligent than the teenage dragons we've seen).
Man the Yaks, ugh. Such a waste of potential to expand on foreign civilisations backstories, In comparison to the backstory we got about the Griffons this episode does not deliver.
But then again this episode isn't about the Yaks, even though it is.
It's about Pinkie Pie of all things, which I wasn't expecting. Some of the characterisation of the mane six in this episode actually reminds me of them in Season 1. The way the Yak gags rotated around each of the mane six and they presented their own way of making the Yaks feel at home, or at least attempted to. Until one of the least funny jokes since the Owlowiscious episode popped up. (but hey it's a show for kids, maybe they found them funny?)
And yet it was kind of interesting at points. In it's randomness we got some neat backstory on Pinkie Pie and her party planning, also the episode resolution wasn't predictable. I wasn't expecting a journey to YakYakkistan, and while the Pinkie Pie personal journey felt rushed it seemed kind of neat too.
I think with a bit of polish this episode could have been quite good but unfortunately we don't live in that world.
Not a great episode but it could have been worse. Perhaps people will view this episode and see the Bronies as the Yaks.
