I don't know if it's really seeped into professional work outside of Hollywood, but fans these days seem to think that the only way to make an emotionally investing work is to start your story, introduce the cast, then fling them all headlong into crushing and often contrived drama and despair with little to no buildup. That really dogs my cats.

So I am going to interject here and call this complete bullshit. I think it would be pretty damn reasonable that a gay or lesbian pony would be greatly accepted in the world of Equestria. I mean Hel, villains and generally bad ponies are forgiven and their sins forgotten in a drop of a hat. I mean Hel, Scootaloo's inability to fly wasn't even thought of until the bitch sisters brought it up in Flight To The Finish. The thought that Scootaloo was different via handicap didn't even enter into Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom's mind.

So I highly highly doubt that Twilight Velvet would have a serious problem with her daughter being in a lesbian relationship with Princess Luna.
