I still haven't watched either. I consider the concept an affront to the whole franchise.

I consider it a marketing ploy that's undertstandable but that I could do without.

I have a feeling it's pretty fucking substantial.

I don't consider anthro ponies creepy. I consider them ugly and lacking in taste (in most cases). But that's just my opinion.

Yeah, I'll be honest, the concept of it just doesn't sit right with me. I knew they did it to boost sales within their target demographic, but I stubbornly continue to abstain from EqG.
Though, I (barely) tolerate normal looking humanizations, but I can't stand the Equestria girls style.

Eh, I always liked anthropomorphic animals.

I only really find them creepy when it's literally a pony head pasted on a pastel human body. When more tastefully done, I just find them mediocre.

Case in point.
I like 1, 2, and 5; I can handle 4; but I really find 3 rather unattractive, though it's done skillfully such that I don't find it creepy.

Because they are ugly as fuck, I can't blame you.

Same goes with completely humanized ponies.

I prefer my anthro to be like 3. I like anthro to have the horse face. I don't like anthro ponies that have a humanoid face.

Indeed.

Lol give a anthro pony a human nose in place of a snout and you basically got yourself a ruined picture.

EDIT geez I have too many people on the ignore list.

#2 appears to be nothing more than a regular pony standing on it's hind legs.

I don't like #3 at all. Human/Equine hybrids are just too unnatural looking.

#4 looks like an EQG human but with a horn, and hooves instead of feet.

#5 sums up my opinion on humanized ponies, as opposed to anthro ones: Not ugly, just uninteresting

Yep.

If you put a human face on anthro, why not just go all the way? I kind of like it when humanizations keep things like tails, wings, and horns.

Beside, think how adorable it'd be to do eskimo kisses with an anthro pony that has a snout.

Or they wanted to compete with Mattel's Monster High.

Which is the point. Monster High is targeted at that slightly older demographic (tweens and whatnot) than that which My Little Pony is usually marketed towards.

That's the official reason. And I thought that was aimed at a slightly older crowd than that of MLP:FiM.

If the demographics match however... I have to accept EQG as canon.

Of course not. Ponies would hold me with their cuddly hooves instead.
