The better question is: is it worth reading if you've not a clue about what the Fallout franchise really is?

How can she see Canterlot from Ponyville? It should be hundreds of miles away.

Wow. I've never really considered reading Fallout:Equestria, but that was good. As was the sound-only it linked to. I may have to actually listen to it.

Though, can someone give me a non-spoiler explanation as to why Luna seems to have replaced Celestia in all the references to the pre-war?

After the deaths of all the foals in a large school, which she blamed herself for, Celestia stepped down and transferred her executive powers to her sister, who ruled Equestria with the Mane Six and that magnificent bastard Goldenblood through the war.

I heard of FanFics longer than that. I met a friend who regularly reads 1 million word long Naruto fanfics. FO:E is about 600,000 or so words.

Fo:E Project Horizons, however, is over twice that length and still going.

I actually knew about Fallout well before I became a Brony—I've been a gamer for a long while now. Before 3 and New Vegas, it was Interplay's best-known franchise; not even Descent or FreeSpace could match it in popularity, and Fallout 2 is considered to be one of the best games in the series. And I must say—it's good to see that it's still popular, especially among Bronies.

So, I've resignment myself to listening to FO:E, and I'm up through chapter six. I am thoroughly enjoying it, with my only real complaint being the fairly trite lesbian ploy of Littlepip, and the lack of elaboration on Vault 24's social experiment. Instilling a sense of superiority of the gender not usually seen as such seems exactly like something Vault-Tec would have done, though it would've had to be women-over-men instead of stallions-over-mares, due to the differences in the Fallout and Equestrian universes.

I have to agree, although I think you'd be missing a little of the magic. I like it a lot so far, if only because it reminds me quite a bit of how I felt when I first played Fallout 3. The incident at Golden Oak Library (which is sort of impossible to reconcile with canon now) brought back a flood of memories of Springvale School.

Who is Goldenblood? It also has Celestial send said students to the moon.

Goldenblood is Prince Blueblood's bastard son, introduced in Project Horizons as the head of the Office of Inter-Ministry affairs.
And no, it doesn't. It has her sending them to a place with a name affiliated with the moon which I can't quite remember, not the moon.

Okay, but FO:E is still longer than War & Peace. By about the length of romance novel, 625,000 vs. 560,000.
