I said a laser was straight. Lasers, which we currently use only on Earth, within its atmosphere, are indeed straight. Even when refracted off a mirror, their new trajectory is straight. Humans generally do not bend light, and that is the way in which the laser example was used. They're pretty much straight as far as the ones we use are concerned.
