I may as well put up my own multi-role fighter jet for download if anyone wishes to analyse it.

Here is the bomb equipped version.
And the missile equipped one.
B9 and Lazors required. - They are the only mods I use.
It has a rocket assisted take off and landing system, be sure to use them as it looks cool and might not land properly otherwise. You don't need to bother about trying to slow down when landing so long as the engine is off. Try to set the landing rockets off at a sensible point.

Its a .craft file. I'll presume you know which file to put it in and such.

I might put my heavier jet bomber up for download.

I seriously want to play it, but I don't have money available online to buy it. After watching Markiplier play it, I seriously wanted to try it out, and to be honest I don't want to settle for the demo, I get the feeling I'll have a lot more resources available for making it to the Mun in the full game.

I will be making several tries to get to the Mun, or the Kerbals will be faking the landing in order to get the upper hand on the Kermin Union.

The demo's good fun. I think I spent 15-20 hours on it. After I'd accomplished a Munar orbit mission I decided to get the full game.

State of the Station

I've added a tug to help assemble the space station, so you don't have to put RCS on everything. It's designed to counterbalance the weight of the module by transferring fuel between its tanks, and can retain perfect RCS balance with stuff up to 32 tons or so (depending on bulk as well as mass of course). There's a Standard-Sr docking port adapter too.

That looks nice. Is that SRB from a mod?

Nope, it's the stock Shuttle SRB that was introduced in .23.5. They're the longest single part, so I like using them for structural elements (emptied of fuel!).

In honor of .24's immenent release (well...it was briefly released today ._.) I present some of my epic pieces of Kerbal engineering:

So I went ahead and got the game anyway. I FRUCKING LOVE IT! I'm having trouble building a space station though. Well, building it is fine... it's just getting it up there. I have the core already up, and currently trying to send another piece, but it keeps wiggling after launch, and struts aren't much help. This isn't how it's done IRL, they usually protect satellites and other things to be put in orbit by like shells or something that fall off in stages. You know how the decouplers in the game cover boosters? That's what I want, but for satellites and space stations. Does anyone know of a mod that does this?

Procedural Fairings does, well, procedural fairings - ones you can freely change the size of in the VAB. I believe their fairings can also work to "strut" the top and bottom endpoints together.

If you prefer more working within constraints KW Rocketry includes some fairings.

When my compurer comes back, I'm most likely going to add some kind of refuel bay to make non-permanent docking easier for all of ud >->

PS: Planeia, you've picked a good time, since the new version .24 is out, with a really comprehensive career mode. Make sure you've got it.

Might be some of the mods I have, but Career doesn't like to work. It doesn't let me gain research points during the flight via crew and surface reports, the option isn't there.

LOL. Reploid, you on the shared save or is this your own?

This was my most memorable strutting failure:

What's really remarkable is that it was stable on the pad like that. Nothing broke, nothing fell over. Made me think that really Squad overdid the joint strengthening in .23.5.

It's on my personal goofing-off save, though I am considering getting on board the communal one. :P Anybody else watch the Youtube ISS series of videos? That thing turned out pretty sweet!

Made it off the home world, but got stuck on making a munshot. managed to so the whole orbit and reentry tutorial well enough, and all before it, just never could make a munshot.

Minmus is further out, but in some ways it's actually easier than the Mun because the gravity is so much lower- you don't need as much fuel to make the landing or to return to Kerbin.

My best suggestion is to really play around with the maneuver nodes once you're in orbit around Kerbin- you can plot out potential course changes without committing to anything, and see what'll get you that munar encounter. If memory serves, Scott Manley's got some really good tutorials for it. Plus setting up an encounter with something as large as the Mun is sorta like the first baby steps toward learning to intercept spacecraft for docking in orbit.

Added to the communal save file.

I've added a new module to the station. Something of a scientific module, featuring the mobile science lab; I know it's on sandbox mode, but it looks nice. Also features a cupola module on the side, which means this was awful to fly and dock because of the offset center of gravity.

Picture.

I use NavballDockingAlignmentIndicator (or something like that) to help my docking. Really simple, just puts a red marker on the navball showing the direction your target port is facing. When your orientation, the pink target marker, and the red marker are all lined up you're facing the docking port "straight on" and can come in for the dock.

To rendezvous, I find that easy enough in stock. There's a trick where you can add extra manoeuvre nodes to get the closest encounter markers for a few orbits from now instead of just the next orbit, helps you save fuel.
