Xis I'm not sure you've really enjoyed any of the episodes in this season so far.

...Don't look at me. I've been rather positive this season.

And that's rather surprising, it was mainly Xis and Wil who were the negative nancies this season.

I didn't think the premier was amazing, but I didn't dislike it.

I very much enjoyed Castle-Mania.

I can't seem to find my review for Daring Don't, if I did one to begin with, but I liked it at the time. I've since changed my opinion, and it's now one of the few episodes in the series I think is actually bad, but that's neither here nor there.

I didn't like Flight to the Finish, but like many fans I don't normally enjoy CMC episodes.

I liked Power Ponies.

I liked Bats.

I was meh at first on Rarity Takes Manehatten but I've decided that the episode has grown on me, so I can probably upgrade it to an 8/10, and I didn't think it was bad to begin with.

Pinkie Apple Pie was okay. Not great, not terrible, just okay. Like most others, I didn't think it was bad.

And of course it's obvious how I feel about the latest episode, but as you can see the episodes that I actually didn't like are in the minority. Four that I really like (Castle-Mania, Power Ponies, Bats, Rarity Takes Manehatten), three that I'm meh on (Princess Twilight Sparkle 1&2 and Pinkie Apple Pie) and three I didn't much like (Daring Don't, Flight to the Finish, Rainbow Falls).

I feel like I should clarify something here. And episode receiving a 5/10 doesn't make it bad. It makes it average. Middle-of-the-road. Meh-tier. Any lower than that and I started to actively dislike it for some quality or another, and any higher and I found there were some genuinely memorable/adorable/plain good parts. I don't assign ratings as low as 1 or 0 for the same reason that I don't typically go as high as 9 or 10; it has to be really fucking awful or really fucking good to get to those ends of the scales, because a 9 is almost perfect and a 10 is essentially perfect. And my own personal bias does come into play. I don't typically like CMC or AJ episodes that much, for example, and I have a bias towards Dash. All of that comes into play. But the point is that I'm not "10/10 It's shit -IGN." I don't give things arbitrarily high ratings (at least not completely arbitrarily), and vice versa.

Yeah. That's right.
To be blunt, I feel like some users here are just very negative and picky, for lack of better terms, when it comes to the episodes.

I can be, I admit it. Partially it's because it's the writer in me that picks on flaws that I see in narratives and don't appreciate, partially it's because the negative parts generally generate more discussion than the positive parts, and partially because it's just plain more fun to bash something than it is to praise it. Doesn't mean there aren't praise-worthy parts of the episodes, but they usually only get mentioned once because that's as far as discussion can go with them. "Yeah, that was good/cool."

So I'm not as negative as I might seem. I do like the show, and I enjoy most of the episodes. I just like pointing out flaws.

I'll be honest. The episodes have been alright. They're better than season 3 but not quite season 2 material and if I am perfectly honest.

I want a song that's in my head longer than three days. I still get a few of season 1 and 2's numbers in my head. But I can't say I remember any song from season 3 at all. Only reason the apples forever song got stuck in my head was because I liked the chorus and I've known about it since before season 4 aired.

The episodes of S4 are generally better than S3, yes, but I think that S2 episodes are similar so far, but I have better memory of S4 than S2. However, it is still to early to judge season 4 entirely.

Exactly. *looks at his scoreboard* depending on future episodes, my final score can be anything between 27-89/100. After S4 is done, I'm gonna re-watch S1-3 and check my score for them, to see if they're better or worse than what I rated them way back. Might actually start that re-watching even before S4 is over.
