Mind you: In 26 years Iroh II will most probably be Fire Lord. As of the end of S4, Izumi must be in her late 50s - early 60s. In S4 Iroh Jr was 40, so at the time of the arrival of Sozin's Comet in approximately 26 years he will be 66.

Iroh is quite a bit older than I thought he was. It's a 70 year time skip, yeah? So, 74-40 = 34. When Iroh's born, Zuko's 51-ish, which is youngish for a grandparent and it would mean Izumi was fairly young when Iroh was born as well... assuming Zuko was 25-ish when Izumi was born, she'd be 26-ish. I'll just attribute this to parents IRL being older than those in the Avatar-verse on average.

Iroh's grandchildren to contain Azula II? It's arguably more likely that Korra's end of series holiday has wider ramifications in terms of future Earth Kingdom stability and in a few years a firebending person of Earth kingdom origin resurrects Kuvira's already recurring, militant mission (i.e. unified Earth Kingdom), knowing the comet's coming. On the other hand, I think there's a tendency for these sorts of issues to pop up when Avatars are younger and less powerful so maybe Korra needs to get assassinated in around 15 years time (or, arguably, even less because that'd make the new Avatar around 11, which would be ever so slightly ATLA: History Repeats).

Or, maybe, Korra's life continues to be plagued by stuttering periods of opposition. I mean, ditching Republic City after your actions are instrumental in widespread destruction of a lot of it to go on a holiday (in the somewhat unpopular) spirit world? And having created a (again, somewhat controversial) spirit portal in the middle of a major urban settlement? It isn't the world's best decision ever...

That's probably the best angle to go with. In terms of what's been on screen and been major multi-episode arcs... We've had bad-guy Earth and Fire benders (who are, ultimately remarkably similar... at least in the sense that Sozin and Kuvira are; or Azula and Lord Feng). We've had three waterbender villains (one psychotic world domination, one a terrorist, the last a dodgy political figure) and even an evil airbender. On the other hand, it probably echoes the Promise a bit too much.

I think it could also be argued that Korra and Asami are going on a vacation for a few days.

They can take a week off - it's not three years. Relax. They'll have plenty of time to rebuild the Earth Kingdom.

This thread is gonna be dominated by shipping wars for a while, isn't it? For the record, I really don't care too much about the Korrasami ending. While I used to be a BolinxKorra shipper, I lost interest in LoK shipping after Season 1 (ATLA shipping is another story...). I've never been a Korrasami shipper, but at the same time, I've never really had a problem with Korrasami, so I wouldn't mind if Korrasami was canon. While the ending IMO is heavily hinting at Korrasami, it's vague enough that some could reasonably interpret it as being a just friends moment.

Both list the elements in the correct order, with the current Avatar's element as the last in the list, and the next avatar's the first in the list.

Just a stylistic note, but I like how in the second series they changed the opening sequence so that the last(or current) avatar of that element was the one bending in the scene. It was nice to see Aang at the beginning of every episode, even if he was only in the series in a few flashbacks.

I doubt there will be another series, the creators probably want to work on something else. Though, if they aren't successful in their new endeavors, who knows? There will probably be money to be made.

Even if the creators wanted to continue the avater-verse, they won't be able. Nick already doesn't like avatar, and they won't let it go to any other studio, so no new series.
