They really aren't. Both Avatar: The Last Airbender and the sequel series The Legend of Korra contain some pretty mature themes which have really helped to attract a much older fanbase, while still being something the younger audience can enjoy. I very highly recommend both as solid fantasy action/adventure/drama/comedy series that are well-written, beautifully animated, and just flat-out entertaining no matter what age group you're in.

It should not be concerning for an adult to watch animated programming. In fact, I view it as a superior medium, since it is not restricted by special effects budgets, and thus a lot more can be done with an animated show then can be done in live action.Armanischa wrote:I haven't seen these programs, but my daughter does enjoy them. Interesting view. I never thought about it that way. To be honest, I don't entertain myself with television very often. My wife and I used to watch one film each Friday night.

Fixed that for you It's rare to find a franchise tie-in game that's at least decent, let alone actually a good solid game on its own.
Which really sucks, because in the hands of a capable game dev team and a deadline that isn't rushed to try and line up with a premiere date or whatever, the Avatarverse work work wonderfully in video game form. Whether as some sort of fighting game, or action-adventure or action-RPG, or hell, a pro-bending sports game. Hell, video games could be an awesome storytelling tool to explore other time periods in the setting and the adventures of previous Avatars. I mean, we've got a full 10,000 years between Wan and Korra, I doubt the events in the TV series are the only interesting things that have happened in that span!

United States of Natan wrote:Pokemon video games are good. and frankly, I would love to see an Avatar game that explored the history of other Avatars. Or, better yet, an online Avatar MMORPG! you could start by choosing your element and stuff. and it could be similar to Elder Scrolls Online in that it explores history and lore of the Avatar Universe. It would be a great way to continue the franchise, even after the end of its TV era.
