[Suggestion] Ban the (((ECHO)))

So, if this is already a thing, I'm sorry. But since I don't know if there is an official rule about this, I'd like to bring it up.

A lot of far right types like to put the names of people they don't like in triple parenthesis. Often times this is meant to mark them for harassment. I'd like to suggest that putting people's names in ((())) should be considered trolling outright, and putting another posters name should be flaming/threatening or whatever.

If theres reasons why you can't thats fine. Just a suggestion.

As with everything, context is key. If we feel the context is equal with inviting harassment or trolling a user, we're gonna smack people for that.

Although the team recognizes that there are efforts to reclaim the (((*))) triple parentheses from Neo-Nazis, it's likely that all instances will be treated as trolling. We aren't unreasonable and will consider all reports on a case-by-case basis as is common practice.

Older users, such as those who favored Yahoo and AOL chat rooms back in the day, still use the parenthesis. While context is everything, spelling it out would perhaps be beneficial.

It is a rule, effective from that post onwards. And I think ya posted below that post, in a thread about banning them, so the 'I didn't know' excuse doesn't make much sense. That and putting another posters name in the ((())) can be considered a threat considering its how Neo-Nazi types mark people from harassment. But sure, blame 'muh mod bias.'

Once again, context is key. The triple-parantheses isn't what did it, it was the flaming aimed at another user. As always, you can lodge an appeal and one of my colleagues uninvolved in the deletion will review it.
