Eeyup. If the address in your browser's URL bar includes "nationstates.net" in it, PG-13 applies. Like was noted in the announcement post itself, although we don't expressly go randomly looking around for cybersexing, if we come across it in the course of investigating something else, we cannot just ignore it.

It might be worth putting that as a message on threads which have listed something like 'this thread is pg-13: if you want to roleplay erotic scenes, take it to tgs.'

If you couldn't tell, this site has a PG-13 policy. E-RP isn't allowed. We got hit, we learn from it. Those with a worse history got kicked off. Standard stuff.

Well that's what happens when you break the rules.

I will note that this investigation was the first and only time in more than ten years of modding that I seriously, absolutely NEEDED a drink. Achievement bloody unlocked, Nationstates, drove a mod to drink. (Only one cider, though.)

A lot of the stuff I had was saved in drafts, and I haven't really done anything game side (in terms of actual nation roleplaying and such) for years.


Still, I'm thinking that temporary bans rather than outright deletions would serve as an appropriate warning, at least for the lesser offenders.

The punishments handed-down for cheating through the use of Predator only had two Delete-on-Sight orders executed; this one had ten. Further, considering the degree to which the rules were violated here and the sheer volume of such, combined with the cross-board posting and familiarity many of those impacted have with various communities across the forum, it was decided a global announcement was the best way to get across to everyone involved and to everyone on the forum this conduct is simply not acceptable.

As Reploid noted: we don't go randomly looking for this sort of stuff. Believe me, it's no fun.

A simple 'deleted for sharing adult material through telegrams, this sort of stuff will not go' would have sufficed

I just have an issue with the thread title (Well, I have an issue with the whole ruling, but I think me having issues with mod rulings is getting too commonplace.) The title sounds like something Donald Trump would come up with. Simply calling it 'erotic roleplay punishments' would be fine: the flashy title is unnecisary though.

It is what it is, really.

The title presumably is there to grab attention. It did that swimmingly, and if it wasn't intentional, it at least gets the point across. It's a little overdramatic referring to the event as a "Massacre", but considering this, along with the recent Predator Bust, it seems somewhat appropriate.

The Mods may be imperfect, but this kind of thing just isn't welcome in these here parts. It's likely for the best that this kind of behavior is heavily discouraged.

One upset user means nothing, but ten? A hundred? A thousand? Eventually, if people want to change the site for the better, someone will have to take notice.

I see people complain about certain rules all the time, constantly for years, but nothing ever changes.

Is someone holding a gun to your head forcing you to stick around this website with its totally unbearable and unreasonable staff? Are you being held against your will somewhere being coerced to use the site?
