I've had an easier - but longer - time boosting my economy, civil rights, and political freedom ratings, but not the ones listed on the rankings. Not everyone I telegram respond - those that I do I appreciate - making it hard to find the right help. When they don't respond, I'm forced to ask other people - and I come upon the issue of inadvertently spamming someone.
The Gameplay board is for asking about issues and game related stuff. I'm not breaking any rules by doing this - many other people have made topics on this and I have supplied a list of these topics at the end of my post. Nations are experimental, experiments are collaborative. The point of the game is to have fun, not be prevented from having fun. It doesn't matter if someone gets corrupted political freedoms because they asked someone for help. That's the point. It even makes a closer community, because nations view people who helped them in a friendlier light, rather, if their topics keep getting locked by moderators it makes them frustrated, therefore less likely to listen to the rules in the future.
I don't believe there is anything wrong with asking for help. Spam is posting consistent, pointless, nonsensical, and useless stuff like "wuyefvwbfhvbeVYTF". Asking for help is not spam. Imagine how small this forum would be if all the threads where nations asked for help didn't exist.
It could be viewed as an educational opportunity if need be. This is an educational game. When you ask for help and see that the results are wrong or right, you learn more about governments. Wasn't NationStates designed to help people with that, along with having fun? I believe so.
These posts don't break any rules. I don't know why they are so concerning to the moderators.
Here is the list of threads of people asking for help, as I promised.
