It's just what he believes, some of the more radical socialist states on this say that capitalists should be purged and you're not reporting them... did he say he was gonna go out and kill homosexuals?

Respecting the rules however, I don't think he was trolling, no matter how indifferent to the issue I may be, I don't think he was honestly just saying it to get a rise out of people

Although I wasn't involved in the report, I want to request a second opinion on this one Fris.

Given the subject of the thread, the post might not count as wishing death. Fair enough; I can see that in this case but the second sentence is still clear All X Are Y style trolling and nothing in the post quoted or anything else I can see on the page suggests the poster's intention is to reference Leviticus or quote God or in any way ascribe the statement to anyone other than themself.

I get the post might have been okay if it was phrased as "The Bible says gays should be executed because they're an abomination against mankind," but it doesn't say that at all; it's a blanket negative statement on a group with no qualifying remarks - practically a textbook example of trolling, yet you're letting it slide because it sounds a little like a Bible passage?

Looking at it as a precedent, this ruling is effectively saying any trolling or inflammatory statement is fair game provided it's kinda phrased like something somewhere in somebody's holy book, in which case we might as well just declare it open season on the LGBT community to start with and probably plenty of other groups heading forward.

I don't think it's IC. Just because someone has a different view than you doesn't mean it isn't their real view.

Of course, if you own here a radical Stalinist nation, in an IC forum/thread, you'd showcase beliefs that align with your nation.
Even if his/her nation was radical anti-LGBT, he/she posted in an OOC thread, so that will be regarded as IRL beliefs.

Sounds a bit odd to me. Can I get a second opinion, or atleast a clarification? Because I can't imagine every statement being acceptable so long as it comes out of a holy book.

And, NationStates will look biased towards Christians only, but many other people use this site
