It is not trickery.

It is using an example, a different scenario, to try and explain a principle. An analogy, a metaphor, an attempt to communicate the idea that other points of view on an issue exist, and why holding a particular view might be something you should change.

If you believe that examples, analogies and metaphors should be actionable, then, well, we're done here.

Given that the title of the 5th Viscount of Falkland is correctly spelled in the body of the OP, I'm assuming the misspelling of the name of the island chain named after him is deliberate rather than a typo.

It looks silly, but there's no real need to change, either.
