After which they limited themselves to insisting that it was racially motivated, which is at least on-topic.

Naturally this is a takes-two-to-tango situation, but given that 90% of Manisdog posts are "Britain/related countries are shit" threadjacks, and considering - if I remember correctly - they were literally just banned for this exact behaviour, I think it's rather on the nose.

Quick question then, where is the line between satire and trolling? Because the original reported comment seemed very much like satire to me.
So, I understand it may be on a case by case basis, but any answer would be appreciated?

As you pointed out, case by case basis. Satire can be a very twitchy sort of thing to engage in, given the inherent lack of tone on the internet. If you don't think you can pull it off without crossing the lines, don't attempt it. If you do it and do cross lines, we'll let you know. There are no hard fast rules as to what you can or cannot say and 'get away with it', so to speak. Them's the risks.
