Postby The united states of Saints » Tue Sep 30, 2014 7:39 am

I think this belongs in Moderation. Can't request a move, though, I'm on a phone.

Let's see what you have in mind.

Sorry it took so long this is just a part of it not all of it:

Read through the characteristics presented and reflect which ones best describe you in your spiritual life then at the bottom answer the questions.

These are not all of the characteristics.

Skeptic-presented with the person of Christ and the Gospel multiple times I demonstrate disinterest and disbelief. Even after Jesus had performed all of these miracles in front of them they still would not believe. John 12:37

Characteristic: calloused heart, dull ears, closed eyes. For this people's heart has grown callous, their ears are dull of hearing, they have closed their eyes. Matthew 13:15a

Christ's next step invitation: Repent. Believe.
Then he began to denounce the cities in which most of his mighty words had been done, because they did not repent. Matthew 11:20 (WEB)

Growth barrier: lack of Spiritual understanding or just doesn't want to believe.
When anyone comes to hear the message about the kingdom of heaven and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed down along the path. Matthew 13:19

Spiritual need: a loving and praying friend; a change of mind and heart initiated by the Holy Spirit.
This kind can come out by nothing except by prayer and fasting. Mark 9:29(WEB). As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to follow the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. Ephesians 1:1-2

Seeker-questioning, with a desire to learn more about Jesus.
He answered, "and? Who is He sir? Tell me more about Him so that I may believe." 9:36

Characteristics: a ready heart, open ears, questions with interest to know more about Jesus.
Again the next day, John was standing with two of his disciples, and he looked at Jesus and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God!" Thew two disciples heard him speak and followed Jesus. Jesus turned and saw them following, and said to them, "what are you looking for?" They said to Him, "Rabbi, where are you staying?" He said to them, "Come and see." They came and saw where He was staying and stayed with Him for the whole day. John 1:35-39
Christ's next step invitation: Repent Believe.
Now after John was taken in to custody Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the good news of the kingdom of God, and saying "The time is fulfilled and the kingdom of God is at hand! Repent, and believe in the Good News! Mark 1:14-15(WEB)

Growth barrier: a lack of clear presentation and understanding of the Gospel; a lack of invitation.
Now, then, can people call on someone they do not believe? And how can they believe in someone they have not heard about? And how can they hear without someone preaching? Romans 10:14(ISV)

Spiritual Need: A clear Gospel presentation and invitation to receive salvation.
But to all who received Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God. John 1:12(ESV)

Questions:

1. Where am I?
Skeptic: when presented with the Gospel, I do not believe
Seeker: questioning, with a desire to learn more about Jesus.
Believer: Presented with the Gospel, I chose to believe.
Follower: Growing in faith, love, and roots; struggling with thorns, trials and perseverance.
Friend: Marked by obedient love for Christ and for others
Fisherman: Reflecting Christ and bearing fruit of righteousness and good works.

2. Where would I like to be in the next six months?
Skeptic: when presented with the Gospel, I do not believe
Seeker: questioning, with a desire to learn more about Jesus
Believer: Presented with the Gospel, I chose to believe.
Follower: Growing in faith, love, and roots; struggling with thorns, trials and perseverance.
Friend: Marked by obedient love for Christ and for others
Fisherman: Reflecting Christ and bearing fruit of righteousness and good works.

3. What invitation do I need to respond in order to take the next step?
Skeptic: Repent.
Seeker: Repent. Believe.
Believer: follow.
Follower: deny self, pickup cross, obey, love Christ and others
Friend: love. Obey. Go.
Fisherman: teach others.

These are not all of the questions there are seven of them.
