It has nothing to do with anyone on our forums reading it. It's all about Search Engine Optimization (SEO). By posting links in various random places, their SEO increases, making them appear more "trusted". That's why we delete the untrustworthy bastids as quickly as we can - so that the money they spend on this fake trustworthiness is wasted.

It seems like an incredibly stupid idea to me, but I can't imagine people would hire the spammers if it didn't give them some sort of direct financial benefit. I wish they'd stick with unmoderated open forums, though - they're a pain in the ass.
