[q]political nicknaming

Postby Great Kauthar » Fri Jul 29, 2016 8:34 am

Is Crooked Hillary political nicknaming?
I wanted to put "Crooked Hillary needs a Kaine to stand on" in my sig but idk if it's political nicknaming.

I'd imagine "crooked Hillary" would be fine, considering you are just describing Clinton with an adjective, rather than messing with her name.
While she had no regrets about throwing the lever to douse her husband's mistress in molten gold, Blanche did feel a pang of conscience for the innocent bystanders whose proximity had caused them to suffer gilt by association.

Following this logic I can call Trump something like "Retarded Trump", after all I'm just describing Trump with an adjective rather than messing with his name.

Obviously not a mod.
Pronouns are he/him if you care, tho I myself don't.

The House of Commons would seem to disagree with you.

As for the original question, I imagine it would be against the rules for political naming - especially since it's in a signature which cannot be argued down.

Yeah? You can argue with a statement calling Trump retarded. It isn't political nicknaming.

Unless I'm mistaken, the House of Commons doesn't moderate NationStates.

I was trying to make a joke especially because I find that clip really funny, but my second point still stands. You say "Retarded Trump" can be argued down in a post - and that is true - but it can't be in a signature. Signatures are generally held to a higher standard than posts because of this quality.

I would avoid it, especially in your signature where it can't be argued. If you want to argue that Clinton is crooked, do so but without "Crooked Hillary." Really, what does routinely insulting the candidate you oppose add to any discussion?
