Hello,

I have a few comments about the new flags. I noticed that you included the flags of a few islands which are not countries: Bonaire, Saba and Sint Eustatius. These are 3 of the 5 islands of the former Netherlands Antilles and are now a part of the Netherlands proper. Why are they included as flags? It's not like we have a seperate flag for French Guyana or other similar constructions?

The other 2 (Curacao and Sint Maarten) are countries and thus are nicely included

Any comments or thoughts about this, dear Moderators and others?

Also, Catalonia, Asturias, Basque country? Those aren't countries afaik. We might as well add all the 50 states of the USA then?

the new flags are mostly really cool. the north marina island one is nice

I also think that historical flags should be added. Ones that have meaning. Like the original flag of the US colonies. Or the Yugoslav flag. Or the Soviet flag. Etcetera.

Well, to be fair, Catalonia WAS its own country...

It was Poland. They've been saving up their allowance for years, and now they've bought Germany why no one was looking.

So was Hawaii. The list needs some serious checking to remove the non-countries and add back real countries that are forgotten.

Serious checking though it may need, for the most part it's much better than before.

NationStates has always had flags for places that are not, strictly speaking, either nations or dependencies, such as Wales and Greenland. I don't object to there being more of them. The choice of which ones to offer is essentially arbitrary, since there are a huge number of potential flags of this sort, even without bringing in historical flags but, hey, just about everything in NationStates is arbitrary.

If you are suggesting that, then England, Scotland and Northern Ireland should be removed from the list and the flag of the UK added

As far as I am concerned and 3 million other Welsh people Wales is a separate country.

So far as the legality regarding protectorates, it isn't

Besides, there are plenty of far more important countries in Wales that don't have flags. If you want to use it, upload it.

I, for one, think the new flags are nice and who ever took the time to redo them deserves a big 'Thank You'. I don't understand to need to nit pick every single little thing.

Nah, I like the new flags, including the ones that aren't real countries.

and add back real countries that are forgotten.

Agreed. Maybe also some historical ones if it's not to much effort (the USSR, for example)

If I have to be honest it if you give the administrators and moderators of flags, such as the city Madrid, which in principle has never been de facto independent, it can also be added such as a flag of any voivodship in Poland.
