Where from reddit do they come from, though? Neither Google nor Reddit's own search function turned anything up - I couldn't find any popular post that links here and the Nationstates subreddit seems pretty inactive.

There was a thread about lesser known sites that got to front page. One of the more popular comments contained a link to NationSatates. However that comment has since been removed and the user deleted, so I imagine it'll be difficult to find

If someone else wants to maybe go and link us again in that thread, not like any of us can stop you.

It is indeed impressive. Our delegate has gotten over 100 endorsements in the past two days putting him 1084 endorsements well up from the 980 or so that we've been hovering at. The last Imgur flood didn't reach quite that amount in the first two days.

For real though, if we're going for more than an impressive but brief spike like this, we need something like a tutorial, right on their own turf. If we're going to be advertising ourselves anyway, it'd be best to give them an idea of the basics before they run amok.
