Posts missing

Most of my posts are missing from View your posts. Is it to do with the Thursday reindexing or what? Thanks.
Edit: This also applys to Search.

Third. I've been getting this same exact problem!

But then, when I decided to look through the pages themselves, my posts were there, but not in search nor view your posts.

Maybe your post on some F7 thread got erased after that thread got erased after seven days. But other than that, i don't know. However, the same thing also happens to me

I noticed something similar, although I don't think its the first time its happened. Fortunately I was on those threads recently, so I just found the record of them in my internet history and went via that.

I know that every Thursday there's the indexing and stuff and I was able to find my other posts by searching forums for them but I had started a thread in Global Economics and Trade which is no longer there at all, even if I search the forum for it. It was called Eleos Stationery if anyone wants to double-check whether I'm just blind or not.

Forum re-indexes on Thursdays, so there might be some temporary weirdness there. It goes away after a short time.

I couldn't find it using search user posts, but I can see it by clicking your forum name below your flag and clicking it from your "most active topic", so it's definitely still on the system...

I'm not a mod/admin, so I'm unable to dig into the toolbox (though someone will probably notice this later), but for could you try getting to it that way (or the link above).

My egosearch only pulls up old posts from the archives, and a couple of new posts I made within the last 24 hours. Most of my recent posts aren't there.

That is the one! I hadn't even thought to try there, thanks!

And strangely enough the thread now shows up for me on the forum when I look for it, though it didn't before I went through the link you put. It still doesn't appear in searches for any keywords which is strange but at the very least I have access to my thread. Thank you! :hug:

When Nationstates switches to a forum platform that doesn't require functionality-breaking re-indexing to happen every week.

Hi,

I'm not part of the mod/admin team, so I can't access the Mod tools. However, I know some advice that might help.

Violet mentioned a while ago, that the Forum does its automated maintenance on Thursdays (and that's today), which includes rebuilding the Index - and this often "breaks" the search feature while it's running.

It's known for posts to "vanish" while it does that, but once the maintenance is done, everything should be back to normal and your posts should reappear.

You should still be able to find them in the meantime by going through the forums manually though.

Try again in a few hours, if they're still not back by tomorrow morning, drop another message back here for a mod to investigate.

It's weird for some reason only certian threads are missing, and not just in my list of posts, for other people as well. I'm just hoping it's fixed soon. The best thing it try is to contact the owner of the thread, get them to post something. Then it might show up, you can click on, post something, and then it should show up in your post section again. That has been my experience so far
