Postby United Arstotzka » Thu Jun 16, 2016 12:31 pm

Hi! I wondered if it Is allowed/permitted to copy legislations one have to another website as a topic with credits to here, put up a poll about the different legislations and see what ppl think what to legislate here on such a forum?

What exactly do you mean by legislation? The issues?

I personally would not do that, if it is the issues you are talking about. If you do that, you could get into some copyright trouble.

Yes

I'm guessing you want to try to figure out what you want to answer for the issues? (Correct me if I'm wrong)

If so, you can post in this forum, which is the dedicated forum for issues, and the FAQ for which can be found here.

Does this answer your question?

I think he means if he can copy the issue to another site where other people vote for which option to choose. In that case it depends on what sort of copyright NS has on its content.

I was making sure he/she didn't already know that it is possible to ask about the answering of issues in the subforum.

This page: https://www.nationstates.net/page=submi ... guidelines
contains an important notice when submitting an issue: one grants NS permission to display said submitted issue.
More elaborately this is spelled out on our ToS page: https://www.nationstates.net/page=legal
When you submit content to NationStates.net, you grant the site and its administrator(s) a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual license to reproduce, distribute, transmit, and publicly display such content.

The implications should be clear: NS does not claim to own the works of those who submit their own writings. NS merely gets a license to display that content on NS itself. The actual writer remains the legal copyright owner.

As such, NS cannot legally grant anyone permission to display said content on another site. Only the owner(s) of the copyright can. Without obtaining permission from them you'd likely be in violation of their copyrights.

Repeat of issues

Postby LPCs Land » Fri Jun 24, 2016 6:44 am

Hi, This may be the wrong place, but I was wondering if there is a reason why I've been getting the same issues a few times? I understand there is only so many issues, but dealing with baseball and say my government officials in a basement should only happen once. Is there a way that someone can fix that?

There's over 500 issues. What you are doing is dismissing issues, which will only dismiss them for a bit until they come back a random amount of time later.
