These are just a couple general ideas for site improvement. I cannot tell how feasible they are, code-wise.
1. Allow sorting regions by either aggregate or average values for World Censuses. At the moment, only averages are ranked in all categories. The aggregate data (such as total economic output or total influence) is there, but the only way to find it is to go to a single nation, check the average for the region, and multiply it by the number of nations in that region. Average values are useful too, but being able to choose would be nice.
2. Show regional World Census values (either average or aggregate) on regions' specific rank pages. For example, on this page, it would be useful to know what the average Civil Rights value was, not just the rank.
3. Allow choosing sources for "Latest Forum Topics." For example, I am only interested in reading threads from Technical, Gameplay, Got Issues, and Security Council. I do not want to see RPs, NSG, etc. Being able to select a few subforums would be nice. I realize that this is probably quite difficult, due to the way the forums interact with the game.
4. Make it easier to combine region tags. At the moment, if you go to the tag cloud and click "Anarchist," you get a list of Anarchist-tagged regions, but if you click "Offsite Forums" from there, you get a list of Offsite Forum-tagged regions. Perhaps instead, you should get a list of regions tagged both Anarchist and Offsite Forums (like so).
Cosmetic (not terribly important):
1. The "Latest Forum Topics" list is almost always half-covered by the banner ad.
2. Expand width of region tables (like this one) to entire page, and include a founder column to use some of the extra space. This has been bothering me ever since the feature roll-out back in February. Why do the tables only extend to halfway across the page, especially when the World Census drop-down is over on the far right?
3. An even more minor quibble: In the same tables, why are the region flags on the right, and the nation flags on the left?
For reference, I am using Firefox 45.0 on Windows 10. Thanks in advance for your responses.
