Unicode characters in WFE

Hello,

In one of my regions I was using the character ⚫ in the World Factbook Entry. I attempted to change the character to ❄, ❅, and ❆, but those characters would not display correctly. Then when I tried to revert to the first character I used, it no longer worked. Am I missing something?

If I recall correctly a while ago some rewrite was done to the code that handles internationalization. Not all characters are available anymore, because it was leaving way too many space for people to abuse. As a result a number of harmless unicode characters are now not usable either. While we'd like to be more specific in what is and is not allowed, this would be quite some effort, so I hope you understand that has low priority.
