Telegrams and the notification of them

Postby Ran Away Guys » Sun Aug 02, 2015 6:30 pm

So, as a new player I'm getting spammed by telegrams and invites to regions and what not, while that is annoying, I understand it, recruit while the nation is still young and what not. What the issue I have with it, is that EVERY SINGLE TELEGRAM comes with an obligatory notification that guess what, I got a telegram. Which means I get notified TWICE when I get a telegram, once by the Notification screen, and once by the telegram mark having the new messages symbol denoting the number of new telegrams.

tl;dr we don't need to be told by a notification that we have a new telegram, the telegram icon tells us.

Meh, not a big deal either way. Notifications are easy to get rid of, just mouse over them.

It does seem rather stupid that the default is to notify us of telegrams and issues when the game notifies us of those in other ways. Disabling those is one of the first things I do when founding a new nation now.

Me too. Or when I restore an old nation that didn't have that disabled.

I've turned off notification of issues, but I like getting notification of telegrams. I don't usually check my telegrams when I'm on my phone - since I don't usually reply to telegrams when I'm on my phone - but I get curious and like to know who sent me a telegram. :P

Anyhow, considering they're not that complicated to turn off, I think this is a matter of to each his own.
