(INQUIRY) WA Warning

Postby Wallenburg » Fri May 29, 2015 12:31 pm

15 or so minutes ago, I got a warning TG from the WA, telling me I was violating its rules. I have a few puppets, but none have joined the WA. Nor do I share devices except via public computers. Any suggestions for how to approach this?

Send out a Getting Help Request, explaining the problem in detail.

There's your problem right there.

Logging into your WA nation at school or the library where other players are logging in to their WA nations is a good way to get tagged. We can't tell who is sitting behind the keyboard, which is why we strongly suggest you don't do that.

If you want to play at school, make a non-WA puppet, and just do your WA business at home or on your own PC/phone.

Right then. I thought public networks were exempt from the IP screen. I'll remember this.

We're not giving a blanket license to cheat to anyone who attends a public school or logs in from the library.

Also, there's a lot more to it than an IP screen. So don't assume you're automatically going to be ejected just because school is your primary internet provider.

I also thought that the idea of multiple tests was to catch those who try to duck the rules. I thought I had read that being caught by any of the screens was grounds for expulsion, not that multiple screens were necessary.

I'm not going to get into the procedures (or the semantics) beyond saying "it's more complicated than you probably think" and "don't do it".

Hi,

2 hours ago, I got a warning TG from the WA, telling me I was violating its rules. I have extra nations, but none have ever joined the WA: and nor do I even use public computers.

Although I have decided to leave the WA out of courtesy after 8 years 60 days, can you please explain what lead the system to think that I was multyling?

You've asked via Getting Help Request, and were answered. That was the appropriate place to ask, not on the forums or by contacting mods on IRC. You may want to try logging onto your other WA nations, in particular those ones that were endorsing you, to find the others that were warned for multying.
