[RESOLVED] Buggy Password Change

My primary nation, Wallenburg, has either been seized or its data has been corrupted. I can no longer access the account. The password, which I have never changed, has suddenly stopped working. I forgot the password to my old eMail months ago and had to migrate to another, but I never got around to changing the settings for Wallenburg or my other nations. In response to this event, I have set the eMails for all of my nations to my current account.

Please let me know what I can do about this. If this is a bug in the system, then I very much hope it will be resolved. If it is the doing of another player, I'd like to see justice.

If you don't have access to the email address, in order to do password recovery, I'm not sure that there's much else we can do. If you think the nation may have been hacked by another player and had the password changed on you, I'd suggest filing a GHR. We require a paper trail for any gameside efforts.

Thank you, Mouse. I'll try that.

Well, I guess the mods gave up, so I made this. The glorious People's Republic of Wallenburg shall be reborn as a phoenix from the ashes!

Also, for future notice, when I created this nation the thing that happened to Wallenburg happened to Arbolvine as well. It seems to be a problem with making new nations on mobile while logged in. Luckily, Arbolvine has an active eMail address, and so it still is under my control.

Why would you assume the mods gave up? You said you'd submit a GHR only 10 hours ago, and the actual submitting of that GHR is more recent still. The mods aren't machines.

Considering the stakes are quite high (losing an entire nation), I would assume that I would not be getting static if there were any hope of recovering Wallenburg.

It's a volunteer staff. Calling it done after 8 hours is a little over dramatic.

Given that you say it happened again, I'd figure it's less likely theft and more likely something like your browser is auto-filling the wrong password or you're typing the wrong password. Especially since you say it happened again with a different nation.

In case anyone experiences this problem later, you should use the password for the new nation as the password for the "corrupted" one.

Create a memorable pass word, and save it on a piece of paper, or on your computer.

...Uhm..what?

His browser's password manager was likely using the new password on his puppets when he was trying to login to his main ... our something like that.

Fyi, if you haven't filed a GHR to tell the mods that this is resolved, that would probably be good. I'm on my phone (and not in the mod center), so if that's already been taken care of ... I don't know about that. :P

Not quite. The problem persisted both on a 10 year old phone and a 10 month old PC. I'm fairly certain my old phone decided to write over the puppet password to the parent nation.
