[BUG?] Nation Search Seems Off

The nation search feature on the 'World' page seems like it could be a lot more useful. I often use this to look at my nations without having to go through the hassle of logging out and in and messing up my forum sessions. For a lot of my puppets it works great, because their name is unique. For nations like this one however - it is basically useless. When you search for my nation's exact name, my nation shows up on page 6 of 7 pages of results.

The part that seems the most broken, that regularly freaks me out and makes me think I've been modDEATed can be seen here:
Image
Searching for "Weed" and then going to the second page of results will get you a message that there is no such nation, and maybe it ceased to exist. Do not be alarmed - the reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated.

Here is a full screenshot - I'm using IE just for demonstration purposes, I do not normally. I don't have NS++ on IE, so it isn't related to that: http://i968.photobucket.com/albums/ae16 ... z4xhcp.png

(Though NS++ does mess it up even further, if you try to go to the second page of results with NS++ it forgets you searched for Weed at all and just shows you all the nations of the world. - I know, you don't care about that.)

May I humbly request that we:
  1. Get rid of that error message that scares me from time to time.
  2. Look for a better way to display results than alphabetical. When I search for "Weed" there's a good chance that "Weed" is what I wanted, it should be higher than page 6. Even if we don't re-order the links, putting a link to the nation that exactly matched your results (if it exists) on top where the error message appears would be useful if it also appeared on the first page of results.

To clarify, I got the same message on Page 2 (Firefox, Win7) - however, "nation=weed" was listed on Page 6 of the list, which obviously makes the aforementioned "No nation precisely matched weed" statement false.

I am most certainly not a techie, but ... that seems strange.

I tried several times to generate this bug on IE for Windows 7, and I could not. Weed, are you also using Firefox?

I use Chrome, and it happens with chrome. I used IE for the screenshot because IE does not have NS++, so I was proving that wasn't the cause. Both of those on Windows 8.1. I've also just reproduced it on my iPhone, so it happens on Safari. I don't have FF on anything though, it has been happening for quite a while though across many machines.

In case my OP wasn't clear, to reproduce search "Weed" on The World page. I won't be on the first page of results so check page 2. That is when I get the weird message.

While that message is weird and seems like a bug. It also seems odd I can search for my exact name and me not show up on the first page. That makes the search feature way less useful.

I confirm that this is also happening on Firefox 37.0.1 / Linux.

Probably means it's a coding bug on the server rather the browser based issue.

Well, it's definitely interesting that I seems to be happening everywhere besides IE.

Maybe it's somehow related to what happens when you have the "Nation Not Found" on the Matchmaker in the challenge minigame from 2012...

Unfortunately I can now confirm that this also happens on Internet Explorer / Windows.

Well, now we know that it's a game error, were just not sure what it is and what is causing it... Just wait on techie... :p

Yep, this was a coding error.

Should be fixed now.

Fixed the error message, but the bigger point I was trying to make is that the search feature isn't that useful. If you search for "Weed" you don't actually get Weed. Is there any way that the result that matches exactly appear at the top of the results?
