[IDEA] Hold back telegrams?

Postby Indian Empire » Fri Oct 17, 2014 12:15 pm

I thought about what if telegrams could be held back?

Like, for new nations, if a nation already has 20 tg's in their inbox, the next incoming recruitment TG's can be held behind it for up to 24 hours. So, that way when a nation receives a new TG when they already have 20 in their inbox, the next messages will pop up when the TG's that they do not want have been deleted. I thought that this might be helpful for nations that have a overload on Telegrams, plus it would help recruiters knowing that if the nation does not get the TG, it will probably be read eventually. Just imagine the top 10 player regions being 10 to 15 nations higher in population?

Is it worth it?

Not really. Telegrams are distributed randomly so everyone has pretty much an equal chance of their telegram being read. Also this would give rise to spamming the servers even more and there's already a restriction on api requests and such.

The solution as Violet has it at the moment is fine with me, some tweaking but hey.

I agree that it isn't worth it. I don't believe there is a big demand for much change to the current system of TGing new nations, so any coding for that would take more time than is worth (probably. I'm no coder, but it isn't like they'd be able to just flick a switch).

Also, think of it this way - how many nations do you think get founded, get 20(!) Recruitment telegrams within a couple of minutes, and still decide they want a bigger choice? I'm willing to bet that most nations pick within the first five or six.
