I've been in NS for some time now and I have noticed that there's a national animal and not a national language. That's a bit weird because a national language should exist don't you think? I say that we must put a national language so people can know what language we speak and not to go on the forums and write dozens of threads about our national languages.

The main problem with your idea is that the national language would either be a real-life language, in which case it'd be a good idea, or a generic <variant of nation name or demonym>-ish/ian/ese, which would become pretty redundant.

Not trying to be an ass here, but doesn't language impact the culture and identity of all human or "beings" in case of NS existence, including nations?

You can post the language's name in your sig, and in your factbook if you have one, anyway...

Hm, it's a nice idea, but a little redundant, given that many nations' national languages would have a name similar to their demonym, and if it isn't already obvious from, say, their motto, sig or factbook, there'll be plenty of F&NI-type posts pertaining to their languages, such as the "translate the above phrase" one. Like Sedgistan said, opening national settings up to too many national info things too quickly could easily end up in a silly deluge.

Use your Factbook to provide additional details about your nation which are not covered in settings.

If you want something new to be coded you're expected to provide arguments in favor, and consider downsides as well. Simply stating that all those who disagree with you need help isn't convincing. Nor friendly.

Uhhh ... yeah.

Especially if they're the people in charge, and they've shown exactly how to do what was asked without changing a thing.

Well... That sort of thing doesn't really happen, lol. I mean, if they were wrong about something based in fact I could understand, but (for this instance) if he honestly believes it's a good idea to add the language feature then a few words really shouldn't be enough to sway his opinion.

I don't want my language to appear in my factbook, nobody will see it there. I want it to be able to say that my nation's people speak Neo-Latin on the front page along with religion, leader, etc. where people will actually see it.

Every nation (with fex exceptions) has a national language (or several), a national animal, a national flag, and a demonym. I certainly agree that it shouldn't be allowed to go crazy, but there is a MAJOR difference between a national fruit and a national language!

And thanks to the new demonyms, if we were going to include something about a national language, it'd be something basic like "X said in the @@DEMONYM@@ language". But it's unlikely we would because then we'd have to make up a language and ain't nobody got time for that.

You might be surprised. I only have a relatively small amount of Ursine worked out, myself, but from what I've seen elsewhere in the forums over the years there have been some verrry dediciated ConLang-ers in NS...

Pretty much. I can only really see it serving a benefit in roleplay - For that reason why don't they just dispatch it? In issues it is never specified if they are speaking some random language anyway. It'd just cause more things for you issue editors to go fix - something I am not in favour of because of the backlog that already exists and that I want to have my three issue ideas go through quickly once I put them in! (My true motives revelled >:D)

I am not surprised users have their own languages invented. This is different to what I said which is editors would have to make up a language to put into an issue if we were going to use it.

In which case it'd be the same language across all nations so obviously it wouldn't be a real national language and we'd still have people complain.

Also, they should also add the feature of putting pictures on Region Walls.
