The Central Pacific seems like the only choice!

Just go with Isis.

Nice and easy. Just so it doesn't become a prized target for Natives, Fendas and Raiders alike...

I can just imagine...

..."Liberate Isis"... "Liberate ISIS"...

Even if only on a small portion of the internet bears Isis's old cause, it would be a bulwark against the terrorist group that has blackened her ancient name. It is a symbol of resistance against persecution. It would be a throwback to the Ancients. It would be a monument to days of yore. It would be the memorial to the Old Ways.

Osiris is the king of the Underworld and Isis is his loyal consort. There could be an expectation of good diplomatic relations with Osiris and Isis, which could revolutionise GP politics, especially for those in the know of the background mythology. Disputes between Isis and Osiris could be seen in a different light to disputes between Osiris and, say (just example) Lazarus due to the mythological background:

So-and-so submitted a proposal to the Security Council called "Commend Isis".

Honestly naming it Isis kinda seems like a bad joke to me.

I'm surprised no one commented on my Eris idea, most polytheistic religions have a prominent chaos goddess.

If the goal is to name it after a female figure who better than Eris, aka Discordia, she who holds the Golden Apples of Discord! (AKA one of the most famous female symbols)

And if the GCR could be a mix of all three kinds, randomly founding new nations, refounded nations, or receiving ejected nations, it could be a true chaos region! Which would compensate for there not really being a necessary need for a new sinker.

I still think GCR's should have more than about a thousand nations on average, and the number of GCRs should be upped to match that. Then we can have male named GCRs, and female named GCRs, and GCRs named after the mod team's cats if they want.

Nations ejected go to the Rejected Realms. Always. I think that you can be refounded in TRR, but I'm not sure.

Refounded nations do not surface in TRR. They are only revived in Lazarus (and it used to be _only_ in Laz), Osiris, and Balder.

I would understand naming a new GCR after a female if one had to be created in the first place. But do we really need to create one just because no current GCR has a female name? What's the point?

I think "Isis" would be a terrible choice, not only because of RL connections, but because it's too similar to Osiris.

Actually, I agree about Isis now being a strange choice due to RL and also just we already have one Egyptian themed GCR.

Balder sort of covers the cold\wintry polar opposite to Osiris.

Something tropical or different themed would be nice. I really don't know the names of any Aztec, Mayan or Inca goddesses but that might be where I look for a new list of names. Or something futuristic and spacey would be awesome for regional cultural purposes and a counter to all the ancient stuff.

Even if it doesn't happen, its fun to think about

Can we yet again establish the fact that we do not need another sinker, which seems to be where people want a female named GCR to go. I support adding one as much as the other person, but the fact of the matter is, regardless of how nice it would look, another sinker would hurt the entire dynamic more than any positives from having a female-named GCR would be. If we need new GCRs anywhere, it's in the feeders, and one only needs to look at say, The North Pacific, to realize that without a doubt. Now if we want to even make five goddess feeders, that could be fun! Use various fertility goddesses perhaps? Hera, Freyja, etc.

But, please, no more sinkers
