How to create a regional journal ?

Postby WikiNS » Sun Dec 06, 2015 9:47 am

I did download nsclient for OS Windows 10 and NS++ (version 2.5.1.2). As browser I use Chrome and have executitive powers as founder. If I go to communications then I can create a title and a short description (title in grey, below the header).

How did you create a Regional journal ?

NS++ still has not been fully patched for the changes implemented by RO's.

Thank you for the reply !

I was looking at the savvy's documentation on the nsclient website, this is very complicated and seems to be rather the site for website SQL developers.

I don't understand your message, as Windows 10 don't have IE anymore, but Microsoft Edge. Is there someone who understand this quoted message ?

Not the topic.

I'm not ruling upon the flaming in Lenzum's post here btw, since I'm posting from a Linux computer.

But threadjack stops here.

The Cuckoos Egg is apparently "over 45 years old"

Postby Usual People In Life » Wed Dec 09, 2015 2:02 pm

Hi,

Can someone check out the RH for Salusa's region, The Cuckoos Egg please?

I just noticed that if you look them up and load older happenings, at one point it jumps from "128 days ago" to "45 years, 353 days ago".

I highly doubt the Internet or the World Wide Web existed 46 years ago, let alone NS! I've not doubt this is a bug. it seems to show the same timestamp for a lot of entries there...

Cleanup or dump needed?

It means the server reset it to 0 Unix time (number of seconds since 12am January 1, 1970 UTC). So yes, it is a bug. And Arpanet (the precursor to the Internet) did exist then.

EDIT: Looks fine to me.

For me, NS++ breaks the Regional Message Board. Clicking the "Lodge Message" button simply refreshes the page without lodging the message.

I'm on Safari 9.0.2 using a freshly installed version of NS++ (from today).

Maybe a javascript hiccup on your end, UPIL? Try Ctrl+F5 (or whatever is a 'hard refresh' for your browser)

Known problem. Known workaround.
If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you. | Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’

Seems banners are busted and not showing up wile using NS++ using Chrome on Windows 8.1. Works fine on my Android phone using Chrome, and on my Ubuntu 14.04 system using Chromium without NS++ installed.

Found a possible cause - I think NS++ might have something to do with it. The bug doesn't appear with it disabled.

Could someone else try the same with NS++ enabled, but click on the 'load more happenings' that NS++ provides on region pages.

in the meantime Blaat could I ask for a tow truck to the NS++ thread please? I'll ask at the Mega thread too, in case this is missed.

I am correct to understand that a non-executive delegate cannot add links for maps or IRC? Because I'm getting a red error text that mentions something about incompetence and such.

Today when I restarted my computer and went to NS in Firefox I was informed that NS ++ had been disabled. This seems to be because they have introduced Add-on signing.

It seems there are two solutions:

First get NS++ signed. Is NS++ going to apply to get a Mozilla signature?

Second changing the settings in the configuration. Has anyone done this and if so how easy is it and is there an idiot’s guide to doing it?

The infinite scroll on the RMB, the forum post id's, and ego search customization function seem to have disappeared.

Is there a way to fix this?

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling NS++.

Can't re-enable NS++ on Firefox?

Postby BPSR » Sat Dec 19, 2015 3:21 pm

If you updated Firefox and realised that you can't re-enable NS++, follow these steps and they should guarantee success.

1. Type in the URL bar "Search bar", about:config
2. If you get a warning, click the button "I'll be careful, I promise"
3. In the "about:config search bar", type xpinstall.signatures.required
4. Double click on the result and set it to "False".

If you still can't access it, more info here. Also, contact me by this topic if you're still having issues.

For me it was set on "true" by default, but it fixed the problem when I set it to "false".

Good thing Firefox keeps that kind of setting for these cases. Besides, it still tells you if an addon is unsigned with that option disabled so you can still choose yourself what to enable.

Is there regional control for Newspapers ?

http://www.nationstates.net/page=blank? ... spaper=120
http://www.nationstates.net/page=blank/ ... olunteer=1

Some regions have this "Newspaper Database Box" and they see 2 buttons:
"View Archived Articles"
"Submit article"

I'm in another region and can see Article title - Article author and the Article body. If I use another puppet in another region, then this Newspaper Database Box disappear. The logical question is:

Why do some regions have this box and other regions don't ?
