I've submitted patches for a number of bug fixes to the github repository. I am now waiting to have Eluvatar confirm the fixes and push out an extension update.

Fixes:
  • Fixed WA stats not loading
  • Fixed WA Stats being farther apart than other nav-items in rift theme
  • Fixed invisible NS++ badge icon showing up on some nations
  • Fixed sidebar flag not loading for site supporters
  • Added select all button to puppet manager
  • Fixed very long lists of puppets freezing the browser

Please continue to open bug reports on github for issues not yet marked as fixed above. Rift & Dark rift bug reports are doubly appreciated, I don't really have time to test those themes thoroughly but want to have them both supported.

I was hoping to wait for Eluvatar to take an initial run at my bug mega-consolidation before posting what was left to github, but (s)he seems to have run into some time issues. I can try to transfer them over there in the next week or so.

Reinstalling won't do you much good if the update isn't public. It looks like Ever-Wandering Souls and Afforess have full developer access to the code but another member who is able to make the update public has not found the time to do so yet. Please be patient, they'll get around to it.

Maybe it might be wise for someone to take the updated source-code and produce a NS++ Beta for those who can't wait for the fixes... because damn I want those WA stats...

The code is on github still. Anyone familiar with developing extensions can run the latest code. Granted, I realize that is not many people.

Hopefully Eluvatar is around in the next few days. I no longer have the ability to publish extension updates myself.

I have no official access or role here, FYI. Just a user who doesn't mind putting in a little elbow grease finding bugs for the big folks to fix :) Anyone can file bug reports on Github (I think Elu gave a link somewhere recently), and in fact if anyone feels like working on transferring my mega-report over to there, please, go ahead! Just note your progress here please so that when I get to it I don't duplicate anything.

I did read through your mega report and tested and fixed all the issues in it I could see. The happenings loading not working on the rift theme I could not reproduce. I think I fixed the rest. If not, open a github issue. I just opened a bunch more issues for Rift compatibility issues.

It seems like the kind of thing that would be perfect for NS++ for those 'ahem' role-players. Having something integrated would be really useful. Perhaps looking for a dice roll tag or an NS++ extra bbcode and then attaching where necessary. I recognize this would only be viewable to NS++ users but since NS++ was stolen acquired by NS I think the userbase might well be on course for expansion.

I would personally find it, EXTREMELY useful.

This would be fairly easy to add, with average randomness. I will consider it.

Found a bit of a glitch....

Nationstates changed how the flag was displayed to may way for an unfair advertisement -_-. Afforess decided to use NS++ to abuse that advert to put the flag back bigger than ever and get rid of the advert at the same time. At least...that's what it looks like. Unfortunately, I paid up to NS to get the legitimate adblocking service (and as way as thankyou to NS). This appears to have gotten rid of that advert...and along with it...my flag O_o;;

When I disable NS++ my flag returns, albeit the tiny flag beside my nations name in the side bar rather than the large one.

Any chance of a fix?

That was noted in my mega-report, yes. [V] killed off the Lexicon ad for site supporters as well, and since the original code just had the flag *over* that, that stopped working as well. From what Afforess was saying, nearly everything I collected *should* be fixed in the code - the only issue is that he no longer has access to push that code from github out to all of us. So once Elu comes by and pushes the update, I'll go back through my list and see if anything is left :)

How do I get the KiwiIRC removed from my region's front page?

It was added per my request by Shadow Afforess who has now CTE'd.

Looks like the Regional Influence and Regional Power lists in the World Assembly Tab of the Nation Page have both stopped loading. Any chance there's a fix for that possible?

Hey Tim! That is a reported bug, and based on Afforess' recent post, it should be fixed in the github files -

However, it does not appear that Elu has reviewed them and pushed the update yet. Once that happens, I'll double check all the bugs listed in my compilation a few pages ago, and file any missed ones on Github, but hopefully this first run will take care of most, including that, when pushed!

The change is implemented server side, so Elu will need to remove the IRC or preferably install a setting. In the mean time, you can open up the NS++ settings for the region and change some settings of the irc there.

Can't Add Recruitment Officer to Regional Recruitment Page

Postby Nouvelle Tealand » Tue Feb 10, 2015 12:40 am

In my region, Labour and Socialist International we currently have an issue. You see, for quite some time now I've been trying to add our Minister for Immigration and Regional Promotion as a recruitment officer on the NS++ recruitment page, and apparently they have been:
Image

However, when they go to our region page they do not see the recruitment page heading at all, and hence they cannot perform their duties. I have checked and they do indeed have NS++, they can see all the other headings and I did spell their name right. I have removed them and added them multiple times. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Phones can't run browser extensions, so NS++ doesn't work for phones.

Threads of note

Postby Enfaru » Sun Feb 15, 2015 10:04 pm

I'm seriously having my doubts as to whether the new management of NS++ has the time for the job...

Anyway, I wanted to make a suggestion. It has already been proven that 'Per region' items can be done...usually on request. Once I navigate to my region, on the left hand side I see a stream of links linking to the latest forums. I am wondering whether NS++ could add in a Regional Favourites list in the same sort of way. I think it would be a sensible feature that can help point NS++ users to topics relating to the region wherever they might be. I mean...there's no advert there if you're using NS++ and even if there were I'm sure that a tab system could be created to switch between latest forum posts and regional favourites?

I envisage it as appearing when you first join a region no matter where you are on the site.

Only per region things I've seen have been adding/removing IRC's since that can only be done backside ATM, and pausing API, since that can;t be done user end without cancelling campaigns either. What are you referring to? A custom bit of code for you seems a bit far... Even if it's technically feasible, it would be better created as something available to all, if it was wanted. Thing is, I'm not sure if they even have access to the data coming from the forums necessary for that, or if the forum itself can even discriminate that.

Perhaps suggest it as a proper feature suggestion in the proper place?

Simpler than that. I do not want it to go and find each associated thread itself. I simply want it as an extra place to put links. So I could link directly to the region's factbook, but I could also link to relevant role-plays by hard-linking. Whether someone can make them glow if there are new posts or not is beyond what I'm asking for.

Typically I have no use for the 'Most recent forum posts' and NationStates++ is the best way of making it useful.

Simply put this is what I am asking for.

1 Region;
2 User;
3 If user == member of region then
4 RegionCustomLinkList.display() = true

Custom region Link list
1 Get links from Settings
2 Store links in RegionCustomLinkList.storage()

I think I'm missing a few lines but you get the point. I do not want a scan of the forums, just a set of links per region.

Question regarding the Recruiting Campaigns that you have in this awesome tool.

I am a Recruitment officer for my region, does any telegram that my nation sends as "Recruitment", that is reported to the Recruitment Campaigns?

Can you explain how that works? Or direct me to a post that would? Please and thank you!
