Please explain to me, what bug caused by a transfer from one server to another that targets the phrase "NationStates Store" and then removes it! It doesn't affect other people, it only affects NationStates and its telegrams.

The answer is nothing. NS++ should not have been coded to be doing anything at all to the NS store, or its text in the help section. Yet it has been programmed to delete something and something that happens to be removed happens to be a small earning device for nationstates. I'll play with coincidences all day, but this stinks. Especially considering that Afforess recently had another account demolished.

There's a strong motive, and all the clues point to a intentional attack via NS++ on NationStates to deprive NS++ of income not to mention that the results of the modus operendi would be at least somewhat effective unless you already knew about the stores existence.

Basically...i'm surprised Max hasn't got lawyers involved already.

edit 1: Spelling error.

Links to the NS Store are only removed if you have enabled the adblocking feature in your NS++ settings, which I think is turned on by default.

Turn it off and the Store links reappear.

No.

NationStates++ does not intentionally interfere with store links, anyone claiming that it does is misinformed.

Edit: A quick check of the page in question reveals the link is hidden due to a bug in the "Hide Ads" feature. Toggling that off causes the link to re-appear. No evil masterplan here, just a bug. The "Hide Ads" option is to be removed next update anyway.

You sure about that?

Snapshot of NS++ github search for "store"

I'm not sure what else "$("a[href='/page=store']").remove()" would possibly do.

You beat my edit by a few seconds. That is meant to catch the "Remove ads" text links next to the ads. In fact, if you read the code, you would know that.

I wonder if my theme idea is still being considered.

Wait - is there still infinite TG space...? I don't want to go around deleting all of my TGs just to save space... :(

I hope someone can answer some of questions for me.

Is there an idiot’s guide to NS++ that explains how to use each feature?

With recruiting in NS++ if other recruitment officers are online at the same time as me do we all send recruitment messages?

If while a recruitment officer is online a non-recruitment officer sends recruitment messages will Nation States stop a nation from receiving two recruitment messages? (And if so for how long – 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week?)

The game prevents a nation receiving more than one recruitment message from a region within a period of 28 days.

I've been a founder for a few hours now and I'm still unable to update the regional titles and map.

It says this when I hit the 'Update' button: "You are not authorized to update the regional map"

Now that I've been running NS++, it seems that I can access my region's regional controls though I am not the founder or WA Delegate. I have not tried to change anything (like the WFE) because I know that I am not supposed to. But I was wondering if I could actually make changes or if it just shows the regional controls and I can't actually do anything.

If you try and edit, it will say you aren't allowed to. It just lets you see it ;) Can be handy for borrowing WFE formats, among other things, though.

For the record, this isn't an NS++ feature. And you don't even need to be in the region in question to access said regional controls. However, as Ever-Wandering Souls said, you can't actually edit anything unless you actually have the power to do so.

Why is there a "telegramming: x nation" suddenly on my nation/regional tab?

I believe that means you were added as a region recruitment officer - if any one of the nations listed in that position are online, API telegrams shall be sent.

Same here. I'm the WAD of a founderless region and I cannot update regional titles.

It seems with Afforess gone that the Roleplay newspaper grinded to a halt about mid-july. I was given editing power to it when the feature was introduced so I could post my first article. With Afforess gone, I wouldn't mind taking it over from here on. If anyone else has editing powers, they can help, too. I don't know if I have editing power on the gameplay newspaper, as I never used it.

Anyone else getting SaveMass in their extensions from this?

It may not be NS++, but I keep getting SaveMass.

Our regional newspaper has since disappeared.

I attempted to create a new one, and it says I don't have authority. I'm the region's founder.

EDIT: Nevermind it's returned.

It's a virus and unrelated to NationStates or NationStates++. Google is your friend.

Roleplay and Gameplay news are slated to be archived permanently as I am fairly certain violet and co. have no interest in maintaining it.

There was a few hours of downtime, I am not sure why. I rebooted things a few minutes ago.

question: With all the changes, who has these days access to all the data NS++ stores? And who has the power to bring changes to the application?

1. who currently controls NS++, Afforess or Nationstates?
2. I wasn't aware that there was infinite TG space.
