And I was asking him. Not you.

Besides, you claimed that NS++ will be split and besides, regardless of your intention, it looks like you were trying to divert NS++ users to your projects that aren't as good as NS++.

Besides, this plugin will last until 2015 at the very least. So I am going to keep using NS++ until it either closes or one of those projects is better than NS++ in quality, reliability and features. /discussion

As hostile as ever Celery. I for one did not think it looked like he was attempting to lure people away. Though it is funny, you asked him but he didn't respond. Instead TWO different posters did.
Hey, it is Parhe :D I am always open to telegrams.
I know it is a Work-In-Progress, but I would love it if y'all looked at my new factbook and gave me some feedback!

Um, Sseroffa is Afforess spelled backwards.

Hello all! A quick update. A few details have yet to be worked out, but we are in the process of acquiring NationStates++ and its servers from Afforess. This means NS++ users will be able to continue using it without disruption, and NS++ will become official, which may alleviate concerns over data privacy and security that have occurred in the past.

Right now I'm dealing with the short-term implications of taking it on, so it's too early to speculate where everything might end up. But it's a very capable collection of software, which I'm very pleased to bring on board, and I think there's a lot we can do with it.

NS++ code is open source and this won't affect any forked projects such as those recently announced by players elsewhere.

Quick question [violet]: will the capabilities of NS++ be merged with the rest of NS (as in all NSers will find themselves using NS++) or is it going to be same as it was?

From our discussions I believe [violet] wants to keep NS++ separate as a test platform for new NS ideas. The best ideas will get merged, but otherwise the extension will remain around.

I did. I'm trying to clarify matters here - remember poor communication is what caused all the problems with NS++ in the first place. "Split" implies there was an official top-down decision from me to endorse a successor. NationStates++ has not "split". What has happened is that two competing platforms have emerged. Competition is fine, open source is about competition between ideas. I am happy there is so much interest in NS++ that competition has begun. But don't label either of the competitors as an official split from me. And as far as I am aware, neither are even reusing any of my code. They aren't splits so much as clones.

I didn't mean to imply that there were two sanctioned successors, when I said split, I meant there were two new projects that had, as you stated emerged. You must realize as a Russian, and English not being my first language [Though I've come a long way] I sometimes make mistakes lol. I also did not mean to create the impression that I was trying to divert people to either projects.

One thing violet didn't mention is that violet is acquiring all of the NationStates++ assets.

NSWiki, NSArchive, NationStates++ are all being transferred. This is a mutually agreed upon arrangement and all sites will remain supported.

NSwiki.org is becoming an official part of NS? I'm not sure where that could lead to.

It's official in the sense it is officially owned by NationStates Ltd. I don't think it will become part of the site, there are already dispatches. But don't quote me on that.

Will NS++ remain a browser extension, or will it be integrated directly into the site itself as an opt-in?

Will NS++ still be updated with the ideas from here: http://afforess.uservoice.com/forums/210362-nationstates ?

Progressivism 37.5
Socialism 56.25
Tenderness 75

Your test scores indicate that you are a tender-minded conservative; this is the political profile one might associate with a protective parent. It appears that you are trusting of religion, and have a compassionate and sympathetic attitude towards humanity in general.

Your attitudes towards economics appear neither committedly capitalist nor socialist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as a neoconservative.

To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, a uncompromising radical egalitarian with an established worldview.

That is fantastic news. I held of using NS++ due to security concerns. I am pleased to see it will continue in this manner.

Can I ask, does this include the dump archives? That's not necessarily an NS++ system, but I believe it is currently still being run by Afforess, and it would be nice to make that somewhat official.

EDIT: Sorry, should have read further down. Thanks!

Thank you, [Violet], for recognizing the importance of NS++, and allowing for it to continue!

Just one question, what of the status of Regional Assemblies and regional forums that were going to be provided by NS++? will they be added, will they not, or will the NS team add them after acquiring NS++?

Seems like a good choice.

Hope to see some of the features integrated into NS, though I don't know if extensions use the same language.

Also, why isn't Blaat a code jockey yet?!
