Yahoo put a four-hour block on us for some reason but it seems to be gone now.

Yep, sent and received by Hotmail, so it's probably in a spam folder.

Verizon has started blocking all our mail again, by the way. They're refusing to lift the block.

Umm, I not sure if you can do anything, but Yahoo is sending all of my reply notifications straight to the spam

We have no control over what your ISP does with the email once they receive it, no. I would love to know why Yahoo! thinks it's spam, as we've done everything I can think of to make sure it's clearly not.

Maybe Yahoo! has a way for you to flag that an email is not spam?

I did, in fact, find a way to get it to not flag NS related material as spam. Simply add NS to your contacts list and boom. At least for me

I know this goes against the core concepts of email being sendable from any mailserver, but have you considered using a 3rd party mail sender (like amazon, mailchimp, etc)? The costs are usually quite low...

Hmm! Not before. We never had problems with emails being marked as spam or being blocked before we switched IP addresses.

Right now Verizon is the only one blocking our IP. The bigger problem seems to be Yahoo! etc filing emails as spam. My understanding is that a third party mailer wouldn't help with that.

What sorts of email addresses have you been using? (I don't need the first part, but the @hotmail.com, @yahoo.com, @gmail.com, etc. would be useful)

Also, have you checked your spam filter?

All the addresses you tried were Hotmail addresses. For whatever reason, they seem to have blocked us. I'll poke the admins to see if we can do something from our end, but your best bet is to use a Gmail address.

I most recently bothered Hotmail about this just last week. It just goes around and around: they block us, I say stop that, they unblock us, then they block us again. I've asked them why they keep blocking us but get no answer; it's all automated systems.

Gmail has been proven to be most reliable E-mail provider in a practice. It is recommended by several active R/D raider organisations exactly because of its reliability, based on experience gathered by practical needs (Particularly "Tag raiders") to reapply their puppets to WA very often.

Problems with WA-applications/admitting to WA are proved to be minimal with Gmail. It is also considered as a default E-mail by TBR. Sincerely recommended for all.

Hotmail said they were going to unblock us a few days ago but it usually takes them a couple of weeks to actually do it.

Outlook can receive emails from any address. I have mine hooked up to a @cox.net, a @gmail.com, and a few other addresses. If you're having a problem and using it, it's probably either a problem with outlook itself or a problem with whatever provider you're accessing through it.

(Mods feel free to tear me down if I'm wrong :P)

(I do find it to be a little slow, and usually access gmail directly for NS purposes :P)

I think they're referring to outlook.com, another of the available Microsoft domains. I'm fairly certain that Hotmail.com, Live.com, and Outlook.com share junk mail filters, so if we're blocked on one (Hotmail) we're usually blocked on all of them. And there are any number of additional email domains with country-specific addresses, such as outlook.fr (France) and outlook.co.nz (New Zealand).

Yep. They also outsource their spam filtering to Symantec, which is why it takes to so long: removal requests have to go through Microsoft to Symantec.

You must have typoed your username at luukku; the email bounced with "User unknown." I see you tried a different email server after that though and that worked.

How much money does Microsoft save buy outsourcing to Symantec?
