I told you to LOOK in Tech, not to post a poll. Threads merged.

Nice little app. Being FOSS is a plus for me, too, so kudos.

Need help with anything, let me know; I'm at least fairly decent with Java.

Thanks!
Feel free to propose features or patches, if you want. I don't have the time to work on the app at the moment, since I need to pay my rent and the NS app doesn't pay, but when I have a reasonable income again I hope to continue work on it.

Thanks to New Andureo, the interface is now (in version 1.2.3) available in an additional language - Spanish!
Some content is not translated, like RMB posts, WFE's, issues etc.

Small update (1.2.4) - adds fixes to some missing macros (like @@LEADER@@) in nation descriptions.
It also adds the possibility to reset your nation in the settings (in preparation for handling multiple nations in the future).

Edit: Version 1.2.5 fixes a crashing bug in the nation view when the capital is in the recent legislation results as well as encoding issues (the API seems to use ISO-8859-15 rather than UTF-8).

I did not know this existed... I'll have to give it a crack as I just brought a galaxy some weeks ago.

Thank you!
I've been wanting to add telegram support and support for moving nations between regions as well, but as there is no API support for this, I'd have to do it via the web site (which means it can easily break if the web site is changed) and that is less than ideal.
Still, issues are handled this way and they work.

New version soon on Google Play!
I've just uploaded a new version (1.3) of NSDroid that has support for the dossier.
You can view your dossier, add and remove nations.
This should make it easier to keep track of other nations and regions through the app.

Version 1.4 has been released, featuring support for showing quotes in the RMB.

Version 1.5 has been released on Google Play.
Features:
* Puppet list! You can now add more than one nation in the app. It doesn't have to be your own nations, but of course you can only do password-protected actions (like answer issues or post on the RMB) with your own nations that you have the password for.
To add more nations, go to Settings->Nations. You will get a list of your nations here. Click the '+' icon to add a new nation and long-press on a nation name to remove that nation from the app (not in the game).
To switch to one of your other nations, just tap on it and confirm.
* Several small bug fixes.

Now if we could TG off this that would be amazing

Yes, it's something I've been hoping to do for some time now, but as my economic situation is rather bad at the moment, I haven't been able to justify working on new features for NSDroid lately. If I could gather donations of perhaps $300 I would however love to implement it at once, but I don't know if the interest for it is large enough.

You could always monetize the app with ads, and to not annoy your existing users, only enable the ads for new installs.

Yes, that would be a way (though I'm unsure of how much the app would make from that), but I always find ads really ruin most apps, so I don't want to push that on someone else. I've been considering a donation version to support further work on the app, though.

I agree and I fundamentally hate advertisements on every level. I think they are extremely evil, intrusive, and at best, social manipulation, at worst, spyware. That said, donation monetization does not work.

DO NOT add donations. Donations create the expectation of updates and support, where there is none.

Ah, that's too bad. Perhaps the crowd funding idea is the most plausible one then, or it'll just have to wait until I (or someone else, as it's open source) has the time to do the feature.

KickStarter - iPhone?

After a time of no updates to the app, I am now considering launching a Kickstarter project for further development (since Kickstarter has now come to Sweden, finally!).
What I'm wanting to do are primarily the following (each step depending on how much the Kickstarter campaign raises):
1) Some more basic features for the Android app - e.g. endorsing other nations, moving between regions (EDIT: done), info on the WA and the world
2) Telegrams (if I can make it in a legal way, since there is no logged in API)
3) Viewing dispatches
4) News from NationStates
5) Changing your settings
6) iPhone app - I have aquired an Apple license for a different project and have learned enough Obj-C that this should be doable now, although it would be the heaviest step and require the most funding
7) Any other ideas you might have, that are plausible to implement.

So, as a first step, I'm throwing this out there to see if there is any interest in such a campaign or if I should just keep working on the Android app in my spare time (if I get any)?

I think #1 is the best, as of now.

So it appears there wasn't really much interest for a Kickstarter project at the moment.
I'll try and do some of the things in the list (primarily no. 1) if I get some free time this winter.

Well, I found a little free time (though there's still so much more I want to implement!).
The next version of the app now has a redesigned nation page, based on the new Rift theme - see below.
You can now also see what nations have endorsed a nation you are visiting as well as endorse/unendorse that nation (if you are both in the WA and it is in your region).
Last, but not least, you can now move between regions, even password-protected ones (if you know the password, of course).

Apart from info on the WA and the world, as well as redesigned navigation in the app, I'm thinking of things that could be implemented that use dispatches. You create a meta dispatch with a specific name (e.g. meta::feature) and then the app uses the information in the dispatch to do something unique for your nation or region.
All ideas are welcome!
