How do I post pictures?

Postby Madda » Sun Oct 14, 2012 4:26 am

I see posts that have actual pictures on them, instead of just a post with a link to the picture. How can I do this?
The Madda Empire is a monarchy. We have a strong social safety net and all of our businesses are government owned in a form of state-capitalism.

You save the image you want to show.

Then go on to tinypic.com and press browse, then choose the picture you save and then hit upload. It will then ask you a secruity question. After that 4 links will appear copy and paste the one that says links for forums. The link is hard to see, so just drag your mouse across it the press copy. Then press paste on the page you want the picture to appear on.

Your welcome, but remember when copying the link off of tinypic it is really hard to see or see at all. So just act like it is there and drag your mouse all the way to the end then press copy.

Thanks.

A simpler method would be to right-click on the picture in question, then click on "properties" and copy the image's URL address. Then write , and put the URL in the middle.

I think the tinypic method is most common and most popular.

Warning: some sites will replace a hotlinked image with 'bad' content. If you choose to hotlink, you will be held responsible for the image as it shows up in your post. Even if the site replaced your intended image of a cute and fluffy bunny with gay porn.

Hint: the FAQ is helpful

Mousebumples wrote:How do I post pictures?
Place the url of an image in between the [img] tags.
Code: Select all
([url=http://www.imageurl.com/image.jpg]Image[/url])

There is a maximum size (900px, I believe), and if you exceed that you will get an error message.

Can I upload images to the forums?
No. If you want to post any images, they need to be hosted elsewhere. Also, you should not hotlink from another website as they may change the content of the image to something that breaks the forum rules. If this happens, you will be held responsible for the content, even if that is not what you meant to post.
