[Server Problems] Game is erratic today! [We know!]

The game server seems to be having a huge amount of trouble for the last hour, constantly resetting connections and/or taking forever to respond to simple game requests (login, getting the issues list, etc.) Also, XML requests are frequently giving back a "maintenance downtime or capacityproblems" message. Maybe my imagination, but it feels like the problems are increasing in frequency.

The Forum doesn't seem to be affected, other than occasionally not being able to get the sidebar.

I have experienced the exact same problems, had to TG someone four times to get it through.

What is happening with the slow speeds and loading problems?

I only had those problems Deciding issues and switching nations.
but the sidebar goes down frequently, and I was logged out randomly a few minutes ago.
Google Chrome says the server isn't sending data.
I do wonder what the problem is.
Oh and I can't reach the forum by clicking the sidebar.

I'm using Chrome, and my sidebar is loading less than 50% of the time, and it is getting the same message. And I have to close the browser to switch nations.

Same here: My "latest threads" section has also been stuck even when the sidebar does choose to work. It's been stuck at the same threads over and over again (for example, it has been saying for the past three hours that the thread "WOW Grannie!" has 3 posts, even though it's now onto it's second page.

Edit: Using Firefox by the way, and closing the browser doesn't restore it either.

There were problems yesterday with the web services restarting spontaneously. No admins are currently online, but when they show up, I'll be sure to point them to this thread.

Just to add my own experience, when I click on the forum link from the gameplay side of the game I am often logged out of the forums, despite still being logged in to the gameside aspect of the game. This began occurring yesterday during the game lag.

Your forum credentials are stored on the game side, not the forum side. If the game can't be reached (and your forum session has timed out), it loses track of your permissions sometimes.

That does seem to explain it. And to give a gift of uselessly obvious information, the game side sidebar is wonky. Which makes perfect sense really. Thanks for the info Fris!

I'm using Internet Explorer 8, and I browse NS using Dark Theme, and today I've been getting a few weird bugs which have all popped up before.

First of all, when I typed "nationstates.net" into my browser bar, and my nation page loaded, I clicked on my region page (Union of Epic Nations). I then got a security warning once on my region page (which was barely loading) from IE8 that asked me if I wanted to only view content with a security certificate. I clicked no, and the page loaded as normal.

Next of all, I clicked on the "forum" button, and even though my sidebar was still on dark theme, and logged into Mesoland, the forum page was in default theme and was logged out of my nation. I logged in and the forum loaded, albeit very buggily.

The sidebar only loaded up for me about 3 minutes ago, after being on the forum for around 10. The "Latest Forum Topics" list isn't showing up any more, however, and the advertisement below it is showing up oddly too.

Is there anything I can do about any of this, and is it something you guys can fix?

EDIT: I just noticed the thread on this already, however I seem to be having a few extra problems as well. Feel free to merge this if deemed necessary.

I hope violet gets on soon I'm using w/e IE is standard with windows XP at first I thought it was just my home pc but i logged on at schoola and I'm having the same troubles
Latest Forum Topics pops up but nothing is under it on the sidebar and login problems as well.

This problem started well before the update, but it appears to be affecting it severely.

It's going half an order of magnitude slower than expected.

I have got the same problems (sidebar) I have not been updated and I cannot get on to my region page. As i am writing this the sidebar has come up.

Nobody needs to do anything unusual except continue using the forums until the game returns. Admins are on the case.

I don't expect update to complete before 8 PM EST.

They seem to have stopped update sometime before 17:00 EST.
