With that out of the way, I just discovered that while trying to edit settings with Dark Rift (nation type, demonym, etc), the text box goes black, unable to be read without clicking out of the box or highlighting the text. Though they work, both of these methods are obviously somewhat annoying.

I just popped in because I found this out 5 minutes ago. Thanks for the hard work and all.
Thanks!

And yeah, I just noticed that. I'm trying to figure out the hows and the whys right now.

EDIT: And figured it out. Hello errant asterisk. >.<

Okay, folks! I made the fix, checked to make sure all of the input boxes were working, and sent it off to Max. We should be good soon!

For regions that don't have a regional newspaper, it constantly displays 159 new additions to the regional news section on the sidebar.

I'm presuming you have NS++? That seems to be an NS++ issue, and has been noted (if not addressed) in the NS++ thread. It shows up for regular Rift users as well :P Dark just changes the appearance, not the content ;)

I've found a bug on the RMB. Whenever I look at posts that contain a quote, the name of the nation that is quoted is missing most of the letters in it.

Image

When I place the cursor over the name I can see all of the letters.

Image

This also seems to happen to the titles of threads when I go to a thread in the forum, except even when I place the cursor over it the title is still messed up.

Disable NS++, reload your browser, and see if that fixes it.

Yeah, I'd suggest the same. I really cannot think of anything else it could be, except maybe an issue inherent to XP, but the only way I'd know for sure if it someone else around here was also running XP and Chrome. I tried it on the most recent version of Chrome (on Windows 7) and I haven't seen any issues; I also run AdBlock Plus.

(On a side note, I'm not really quite sure why you're running two ad block extensions at the same time, considering they do roughly the same thing. All that does is slow everything way down.)

Checked in Chrome, Windows 8.1, as an NS++ user and regular adblock user, and no issue for me.

...I also seem to be running Norton Identity Safe. Wonder if turning that off will speed me up a bit... :P

I have had a problem with trying to quote posts that are behind the older messages button, as the quote button seems to still work, I just can't see it causing me to accidentally like or suppress the post instead.

Can you post a screenshot of what you are seeing? I press the quote button and it just quotes without doing anything else. (Also, since you're referring to liking posts, then this would have gone under the Dark Rift theme thread, but I'll answer it here.)

Checking with the Rift thread, it seems that there have been some issues popping up with the sidebar on the Century Dark theme (such as the "Latest Forum Topics" title being too dark and the list of sidebar items extending beyond the sidebar), so I've been going through and seeing what's all changed there. I've been preparing changes to fix it, as seen here: http://i.imgur.com/3cb7rdH.png If there are any issues that you see elsewhere, please let me know.

EDIT: Changed thread title from "NationStates Dark Theme (Available via the Settings Page)" to "NationStates Century Dark Theme".

But yeah, I'd like to second these requests for a dark rift, but I do so humbly. After all, you guys are all pretty busy, and I admire your work.

There is a dark theme for Rift; all you have to do is go into your Settings and select "Dark" from the "Theme" dropdown box.

There's been a Dark Rift since before Rift was even the default.

One of the things I've been toying with yet again is trying to get the non-new buttons (Joining a region,uploading/downloading a dossier, the nation login, etc) on the gameside to line up with the newer ones (send a telegram, ban a nation, subscribe to RSS feed, etc). I've had some luck with it: http://i.imgur.com/P6qr4uW.png (The join the region button is the one that has the mouse pointer over it) Thoughts?

YES! Awesome! :)

EDIT: I did notice that the login button got switched out for a new one in Rift! I might just hold off on trying to replace the rest of the buttons, but I'm not quite sure yet.
