So is there any opposition to this measure?

I think that most nations would like this feature...if we could get a coding perspective on this :)

I think that this feature is going to help communicate with the member states in my region in confidential mode. For example, when regional passwords change.

Well seeing as a couple of the regions I'm in ELECT their delegate, when re-election roles around they could use this feature to give themselves an advantage. (Very easy campaign telegrams)

Compared to the advantages, that's minor. I will put a couple puppets in the regions and if they all get a campaign TG at same minute, gotcha mr. delegate. Although, I'd have to be on within two hours of the crime... oh well, it's again a minor issue.

Would it be possible to have it appear on regional happenings that "______ used regional controls to send a telegram to all the regions members."

That would deal with the only problem I see.

I'm all for this, it could seriously rejuvenate the feeders.

One problem; would it be possible to increase the size of delegate telegram inboxes to compensate? Under this system I could potentially be telegramming 2200 nations. The replies might well flood out a delegate's inbox, leading to "Don't want to reply to me, eh? Nuts to you!", when in actual fact telegrams are bumped out of the inbox before they are even viewed.

Would it be possible to disable replies to the mass TG?

I'm pretty sure the answer is no. There's no system to reply to telegrams; in the game, all the telegrams are 'new' telegrams, even if they're in response to an earlier telegram.

Unless they hardwired the telegrams to come indirectly from a quasi-nation which is rerouted from the delegate, which would give the telegrams a nice shiny colorful title like the mods have, and block/separate replies for mass telegrams.

This would be ideal, like red text which reads: "The East Pacific Delegate #NAME" where name is whoever is TEP delegate at the time (I say that because elections are coming up in TEP soon).

If people don't want it, put it in the settings section. Simply a checkmark box, like the vacation mode one, which would block such mass-telegrams. Simple as that.

Or put that quasi-nation (the mass telegrammer) on your ignore list.

I would suggest to place it under regional controls. And allow the Founder to switch it off for Delegates, if necessary. Otherwise I can see the possibility of it being abused by invaders.

That works too.

I hope this happens soon - TEP is going through another round of elections! Would be nice to get everyone involved.

It looks like general opinion supports this and - as people suggest - it makes sense to put the feature in the Regional Control page. In regions where the founder no longer exists, it is only 'fair' for delegates to access the mass-telegram feature.

I personally support this as delegate for a region whose founder CTE'd a while ago... since then I've been like the "founder-by-proxy" as oldest member of the region, but I am democratically elected by the WA members, I promise! :)

why wouldn't they be able to block replies?? Can you reply to the WA telegrams that tell you when beels have been accepted and your nation will comply with them? No you can't... or atleast i don't think you can't... I've never exactly tried. But if you limit the regional TG's to something like, 1 or 2 per week, (2 for the founder 2 for the delegate for a total of 4) then you elminate the spam issue for the recievers of the TG.

*clasps hands in prayer*

Please, please allow this very soon! The East Pacific is hosting Magisterium elections (that's like our congress) next week, and I would love to give everyone the chance to run in them!!

I want to do this, but I can't see it happening that fast, sorry Todd. Our TG system is really not built for mass communication, and I'm thinking of overhauling the whole thing. But that would take a while.
